The feathers fly in Fae's flashback, this week in Folume Five, page firty free.
Thank you for the clarification, lol. I imagine it's quite a challenge to design for the multitude of anatomies, so this is by no means a complaint, I'm actually fairly impressed on how it all works out.

Karate class in art school...wait, what? There's a story here.

When it comes to material, we didn't plan on fabrics in a fantasy - it's basically a stretchy piece she can step into. Maybe whatever Wolverine and Jean Gray's material is. I don't think it's one piece up top, it probably has straps and things around the back of her wings. Fae can do it since she has hands, but Vanth is limited to rings because of the claw hands.

There's one thing I'm both impressed and slightly confused about. Fae's outfit.
Humans females, if they're wearing a leotard or one-piece, like she's wearing, the material has stretch, and a fair amount of strength, because the front and back panels are mostly solid. For her, she needs not only the standard 5 openings for her head, arms and legs, but also her wings and tail. So that's at least 2 more, if not 3 more openings. My questions.
1. Just exactly how does she get that thing on, or other clothes for that matter, when dealing with that many extremeties, I'm not seeing zippers like on Vanth's clothing, and,
2. Just what kind of material is that outfit made of to hold together in a sport like fall guard? It would be reinforced if it was more of a unitard, without the cuttouts for hte thighs, but at this point it's being held together just by the material around her hips, since there has to be a cutout for her tail? That just screams wardrobe malfunction if pulled on the wrong way, btw....not that Igrath would complain, I suppose.

Yea what you say is true. Though I'm guessing your inspiration for Fae's move is the Judo throw the Tomoe Nage or sacrifice throw as it's also known ? Now yes with this throw strength isn't really that important, but weight is. My understanding is it's your backwards falling body weight that offsets the other person's center of gravity and causes them to fall forward. If a fighter doesn't have the weight for it then believe it requires the other person to be attacking and have momentum you can use to flip them over when they come at you. Not trying to criticize or anything. The page is great.

Dave: It looks difficult, but the throw itself doesn't involve strength at all. Once the center of gravity is off balance, it's all technique- back in art college, we used to toss each other around in a karate class. However, making the throw appear realistic in an illustration is another matter entirely, and one where I could probably do better.

Doing that particular throw requires virtually no strength- back in art college, we'd throw each other around in a free karate class, that was hands down the funnest one to do.

It's more based on where the point of gravity is, but I agree, Igrath is a bit heavier and has more stature.

Ok, I know it's supposed to be impressive how Fae filps him and pins him here, but it looks pretty unrealistic to me. I mean if Igarth was charging at her and she used his momentum against him then maybe. But looks like he is just standing there, and can't see how Fae has the weight to flip him over like that. Even if she flapped her wings to create extra force I don't see this happening. At most Fae only would have pulled Igarth down on top of her. Sorry don't mean to get nitpicky.
