2024-11-21 03:41:41 +0000 UTCBones didn’t know about the plan until he beamed over to the Romulan ship when Kirk had been injured. He said this to Christine, but you must not have heard it. As for the whole thing with Spock getting romantic with the Romulan commander, I always assumed that it was not the plan when he beamed over, but that he formulated that plan once he started talking to the commander. I'm guessing he had another plan in mind, but pivoted after they talked and it was obvious that she had a thing for him. Also, I have always wondered why they’re talking about the cloaking device like it’s new/unknown technology when it was a major part of “Balance of Terror”. Finally, when the commander says that the room where the cloaking device is, is off limits to all but “loyal Romulans”… wouldn’t every Romulan on the ship be a loyal Romulan? I would hope so!

2024-11-20 16:50:06 +0000 UTCWell, all the flaws in this episode aside, I think we can agree that if you're going to go through this massive plot to steal a Romulan cloaking device, the first thing you should do is tell Spock, "You're the sexiest Vulcan mf on this starship, you're going to have to go in there and get that Romulan commander hot and bothered while we pull this off" lol. His one error in logic, he forgot his Barry White CD's. Then at least Tal would have known the deal when he came to break up their party later :)
