One more thing. At the end of the episode, Ma'ah mentioned that Martok started on "a ship like this". As a DS9 fan I would be remiss if I didn't mention that Martok was one of the reoccurring Klingons who appeared in that series. Martok once mentioned how he was blocked from becoming an officer by a member of the oversight committee, much like Ma'ah was, and that he had to slowly rise through the ranks.

2024-11-09 01:47:23 +0000 UTCWhen Ma'ah was first introduced in "wej Duj" he seemed to be the "Klingon Boimler", much like T'Lyn was the "Vulcan Mariner". Those parallels continue as we see Ma'ah's family harvests grapes for bloodwine, much like Boimler's family harvests grapes for raisins. Of course both are riffs on Picard's family vineyard.
