2024-04-12 14:52:15 +0000 UTCTo answer your question : In the Fallout universe the bombs dropped on an alternate version of our 50s-60s, where some cars run on atomic "fuel" and other weird more futuristic technologies with a 50s-60s spin on it. Other that this, I thought it was great! The production budget seems through the roof, with amazing set pieces, props, etc. It was gorgeous. They introduced the universe very well, even though I was thinking that maybe for someone who doesn't know the game they could've focus this episode only on Lucy (plus the intro with Walton Goggins). A lot of the sound design is the same as the sound effects of the games (the stimpak that she injects her wound with, the zeppelin, etc). I would've liked to know more about why Maximus was bullied. But I'm with you, it seems very unsure if he did put the blades in the boot, and it's actually a great grey area for the character. Otherwise I think they nailed the tone. Usually when a show or movie starts to put "happy" music on ultra violent scenes, it can very much be hit or miss for me. I don't like when things start to become too gory for shocking or aesthetic value but without any stakes. Here there's the dark humour but it's very well blended with the emotional reactions of the characters. Speaking of characters I thought the cast did a great job. No surprise that Mrs Kyle Maclachlan and Walton Goggins were fantastic! (I love that you referenced The Shield). Also, on a side note, the actor that plays one of the member of the council of Vault 33 is in Severance. And that reminded me that, if you haven't yet, I urge you to watch this show (and react to it actually, it's sci-fi!), it's absolutely stellar! Well, it's late here now so I'm off to bed. But as I'm NOT reacting to it, I'll sure watch all the rest of the episodes before your reactions are live. It was nice to watch if for the first time "together", even though I felt a bit crazy when you said or asked things and I wanted to answer to my screen xD So see you next time, when I'll know what will happen when you react to it, back to normal ;) See you, Vault-Dweller! PS : Also the actor who plays the Brotherhood old guy is fantastic too, and has a great role in another amazing show I highly recommend: Mr Robot.
