The Expanse 1x2 - 'The Big Empty' FULL LENGTH Reaction & Review

Great news. Despite that minor issue I've been really enjoying your reactions. As a fellow ttrpg forever GM and film nerd; I highly recommend listening to the YouTube podcast; "Ty and That Guy" with hosts Ty Francks (on of the writers and GM of the original game that inspired the novel) and Wes Chatham (the actor who plays your favorite; Amos). They became best friends during the show and do a really amazing job deep diving on each episode. They have many guests; including Thomas Jane and the show runner Naren Shankar, who got his start on TNG! Many other guests from fellow actors, production assistants, costumers and directors! This show is legendary in the biz for having almost zero turnover in production staff (which is nearly unheard of) between seasons and they're all eager to share stories and their love for the show. Also, having listened to Ty drop clues about the game they were playing; I'm 90% sure they were playing play-by-post "Traveller" the second oldest ttrpg after DnD. This is also the same game that Joss Whedon played in college and admitted that influebced his creation of Firefly.

I do, my friend. Apologies for the earlier videos without one. 100% rookie mistake on my part

Fury Roll

Really hope you consider placing a running timestamp in future videos, as those of us who have to pause or accidentally hit a touch screen are out of luck otherwise

Thank you for the guidance! If you see me trying too hard to figure everything out (I'm prone to that), please remind me of this post :) Appreciate everything, my friend!

one of the expanses great strengths is how every single revelation is earned, satisfying & comes very organically...thats the way expanse works when getting to know characters, places & culture...the knowledge comes in a way that all of a sudden you realize "wow I totally got it" you don't have to completely understand what they're showing you, you only have to follow along and then BOOM everything will make sense....it just happens so organically without being spoonfed or manipulated..its so refreshing and no one does it better than the expanse. as far as set up / payoff yes things that seem unimportant right now in season one will continue to pay off till the end of the series!! loving these reactions thank you :)

Belinda

this is a fact absolutely no hyperbole...i love when the turn comes for people concerning amos!

Belinda

Its like a plot point firehose...I love it :D

Fury Roll

LOVE Amos but I'm not ready to make such a proclamation :D Now the fact that you think that makes me super excited to keep watching!

Fury Roll

That makes sense! I was confused as to its positioning to the Cant given the distance it seemed the Knight had to travel.

Fury Roll

I think I've watched this show three times, and each time I find something I missed. So much stuff going on!

LightningInvoker

Amos Burton puts Jayne Cobb to shame!

LightningInvoker

The Scopuli was shredded when the blast wave hit. It didn't have atmo, either. It was totally open to vacuum

LightningInvoker

My head's definitely spinning (in a good way)! I start to refine my theories (a bit) after the 3rd episode (Remember the Cant). However I also realize after the 3rd episode that 'guesses' with this writing room aren't encouraged :D

Fury Roll

I love seeing reactors theories on the first season. It's definitely written to be like a detective mystery type story so it's always fun to see where peoples brains go.
