2021-12-31 09:34:11 +0000 UTCJenova Dreamweaver is indeed the boss's name (the track title is "JENOVA Quickening"). Original JENOVA was indeed by Uematsu (basically, if it's anything from FF 1-9 it's 100% Uematsu), the Remake version was arranged by Tadayoshi Makino, same person that did Airbuster :D I actually had a similar reaction to the orchestral segments of Quickening as I had wanted an updated version of JENOVA that kept the synthy electronic sound of the original. There have been orchestral arrangements, a more metal version on the Advent Children OST, a Black Mages cover version, a piano arrangement etc but nothing that tried to emulate the original sound. I was hoping Remake would do that but braced for an orchestral arrangement. So when it did start with an orchestra, my heart sank. It sounded good and all but it wasn't what I wanted. Then phase 3 started and I freaked the eff out :'D It felt like this was deliberately arranged to toy with my emotions and expectations and it was expertly done xD The soundtrack version is only a little over 6 minutes btw, since it only plays each phase once. This was all from gameplay so the first two phases looped like, two or three times.
