Important Poll! (Dancing Mad)

Hello everyone, good evening. As some of you know. Dancing Mad from FF6 / FFXIV is my biggest request right now with about 5-7 people with paid requests for it. The last donation being a very hefty amount for the song as well. I'm just curious your opinion on high priority cutting in line for such a big song. This would not a be a normal thing as I always go in the order I receive them but currently DM is #103 at the earliest.

Just getting opinions! I'm mostly likely going to make two separate videos with FF6 first and then FFXIV back to back.

As some have already stated, I feel fine with special reactions given specific circumstances, but it should still follow some sort of metric since some may feel put-off by unstated rules after they've bought into the queue. The monthly limit for expedited ones doesn't sound like a bad idea, but it still may lead into some bid-war drama that could be messy, I dunno how to go about it other than first-come, first-served. It may also be beneficial to have some other limits in general as well, like song duration only up to a certain length unless otherwise compensated, etc. It's cool if you're chill with longer songs, but it still may help to have a limit anyway to hardball with for comparison.

Pink Shades

Yup! Definitely don't wanna open flood gates here, just figured it's such a huge request.

Going in order for 99% of the requests would be most fair. However, there are some songs (Like this one) that can be a special event. Maybe make a poll everytime something like that comes around? Having that rule alone would limit it, and patrons would choose if it goes first or not.

Big Hank

Personally, as one of said donators, doing as you are doing with going in order of request feels more fair. That said, doing a once a week(or two) most requested video as someone mentioned before seems a decent way to hit the big songs while still hitting the lesser requested songs in order.

I share the same sentiment as BlueDyerose earlier. Maybe duplicate/most requested every month/week/couple weeks get some degree of priority. More similar requests I would think would generally lead to more youtube visibility!

gonna throw a different opinion out there, maybe once a week you do the most requested (by amount of people not $)

It's probably fine this one time, but it'll quickly get frustrating for those patiently waiting if songs keep cutting the line. That's just my opinion though

Naycateb

I think you make an exception this one time and push it ahead, but make a rule against it for the future.

amritadyne

Not bad!

Jnn

Yes, I was going to message you individually once I got home. But i agree!

Jnn

Dancing Mad is excellent and always has my vote. That said, something that might help could be to reserve one slot per week or month to go to the most donated song, that way songs that have a high demand or a generous benefactor get priority without displacing other requests

Celadore

In my opinion, if songs are requested multiple times (particularly with the frequency dancing mad is) I think it's perfectly fine to push it ahead.

Shadowpulseforge

Being a requester of Dancing Mad I would enjoy hearing it sooner, but we should have a hard set rule one way or another going forward.

Lance Minke

I'm okay with priority requests as long as there's a cap on them. You need to make a living now that you're doing this full time. I think if priority requests became the only way to get a song in, or if it starts feeling that way that can become a problem.

TarundiMC

I was going to message you individually but glad I got your input here!

Jnn

Yea exactly, just weighing my options and always getting input. I don't like to make decisions without consulting the community.

Jnn

Considering that I was one of the paid request, I say move it up! That song was a banger in 94, it's a banger now. It was super amazing seeing it performed live.

I mean, technically it's already requested, so if even more people request it, it's actually free income for you, but I'm siding with 'not cutting', because if you did, it might get brought up in the future when someone does a big donation and then complains that "Even though I donated so much, why didn't he expedite it?". So yeah, that's just what I would do, but thou art not I and I art not thou. So it's up to you chief

BloodTrinity

I'm fine if it's a one-time thing. That tier was my first savage raid experience and I really liked the fight

can be a funny reaction to see though, deffo not my fav, but with that perspective for a first timer... ^^ hehe

mds

To be honest that song is hit or miss. And its a big miss for me. Sorry all dancing mad fans lol!
