You might consider this song to be Toby Fox's signature in terms of music, he originally composed the song as part of a romhack for Earthbound called the Earthbound Halloweeen Hack. It's also appeared in the mega popular webcomic Undertale since he was the music composer for that Webcomic as well. Then finally he went independent and put it in his rpg Undertale. It's actually heavily inspired by a song called Megalomania on an old Japanese RPG called Live a Live. He originally wanted it as the last boss theme of his romhack, but he couldn't transfer it over so he just composed his own song and the rest his history.
