2022-06-20 01:43:27 +0000 UTCwatching this ep again after festa dinner it really hit hard how namjoon must’ve been feeling these past few years. :( they always wanna be true to themselves and want to say something to the world but now that feeling is gone, so I understand that they have to recharge themselves as individually first before coming together again as a group.

That man deserves nothing but love. He carries so much weight on his shoulders and never gives himself enough credit.

2022-06-16 07:50:50 +0000 UTCwhat joon was talking about in this ep to do with him living as 'kim namjoon' or as 'rm' is something he's been struggling for years, probably starting with his difficulty at debut when thinking of himself as an underground rapper or an idol. he's talked a lot about it in his music, but i think to get a feel of his current thoughts on it, i recommend going and reading the lyrics to intro: persona on the doolset website. it's true when he says he can't help but be honest with us, and i love him for it <3 also, a little bit of info about the fanchants heard here during reflection; when the tour first started, and namjoon sang the lyrics "i wish i could love myself" over and over again, the audience was quiet and it was a very heartbreaking performance, but as the tour went on, an unofficial fanchant was started by army shouting back in response "we love you" which honestly makes me cry?? and then joon responded to this by changing the last lines to "i wish you could love yourselves" and "i wish we could love ourselves". theres also a chant that developed in the middle of the song in the instrumental where armys chant 'kim namjoon'. What started out as a very raw an honest performance turned into the most wholesome and spontaneous on-stage communication between joon and army. and also baring in mind, this all happened before the love yourself series even began. not saying this is what inspired that series, but i think the experience would definietly contribute to joon's lyrics at the time. I just wanted to share cos reflection is honestly one of my favourite performances!
