I'm trying to skip the ink phase and draw right on the sketch, but it's still a steep hill for me. Lines are just too good at defining shapes and emphasizing edges. For body hair I used to draw every single hair but not only did that take way too long, the hairs were too thick and looked hard and bristly almost like cactus spines. I had to go through almost a dozen hair brushes before I found one I liked. When I added the highlights I didn't intend for him to look like an oiled up bodybuilder, but loved the effect too much to correct it.
Also, what is it about muscle men wearing blue jeans and only blue jeans that does it for me?
