Patreon Update + Notice

19th of September 2021.

Nearly a full year ago, the first chapter of The Primal Hunter went up on RoyalRoad. Two months later, I already had a Patreon, and from December, writing had become my full-time job. Yep, things went fast back then.

Four or five months ago, I then announced to change the Hunter-tier (10-dollar tier) to include regular chapters on Sundays in place of side stories till we reached 50 advance chapters. From today, we reached those fifty. Now, what does this mean?

In essence, it means I now have weekends again. This does not mean there will never be weekend content. I may return to sometimes (read: SOMETIMES) post a side story or an intermission or something of the like, but no promises or guarantees. To be perfectly honest, I think it will serve the story well to have one extra day of break. Because let’s be fair, I spend even my off-days thinking about the story and planning ahead.

With this milestone, I am also announcing that I am taking a damn break.

Since I began posting a year ago, I have had two weeks of holiday in May, which I don’t even count as a holiday as I spent nearly all that time moving across the country. I didn’t even take Christmas or New Year or anything else off. Considering I have had 1-day weekends too, I feel like I deserve a holiday.

So, I’m taking the 7th-22nd of October off. I actually planned on taking the whole month off originally but decided that since I’m not exactly a big planer of exactly how long arcs will be, I shouldn’t take entire months off. A bit over two weeks seem fairer. It also feels more appropriate to all you wonderful Patrons not to have a whole month without content.

Now, others may also ask: “Wait, why start a break on a Thursday? Wtf? Well, the reason for that is simple. I’m going to sit on my couch and watch The International 10 (Dota 2 tournament) for two weeks straight, starting the 7th and running till the 17th. After that, I can be honest and say that the next week will likely be spent doing story planning and maybe making a bit of a backlog.

Anyway, I wish you all well, and I want to thank every single one of you (besides a select few, you know who you are) for their continued support! I genuinely enjoy writing the story, and I hope you continue to enjoy it too.

TLDR: Hunter tier has reached the cap of 50 chapters, so no more guaranteed content on Sundays (may still be sporadic side stories or intermissions or something, but no promises).
