Here’s an excerpt from film footage shot for George Michael’s last few years of touring. I was kindly given all the raw footage after George passed, and so we’ve made a few edits of this footage, more coming soon!
We filmed this in London, and George was present and directing the shoot. On the tours, the footage of me would play behind him on a three-story LED wall as he sang “Feelin’ Good”. I saw the show on several occasions, in the US and in parts of Europe. One memorable time, he had me sit with his lovely father to watch the show, and someone came to get me during the show to bring me backstage to his quick change area, where we had a quick chat while he was changing jackets. Another time, Sharon Stone invited me to her home for a birthday party for George, and there were just a few people there, very intimate… it was truly a pinch-me moment to spend time with my biggest idol of music!
I‘ve been a massive George Michael fan since the Wham! days, and I honestly can’t think of an artist I loved more, for as long. His voice was so flawless when he sang live, I cant think of another artist I’ve ever seen live that sang as well or better than the recordings. I’m sad he’s gone, and grateful for the times I got to spend with him.
