Changes in 2019

Last year we wrote and released an all-original EP, performed 2 concerts, produced 3 full music videos on 2 coasts, had several high performing videos, raised thousands of dollars for charity, appeared at 2 YouTube conferences, expanded our team creatively and administratively, oh yeah and STARTED A WHOLE NEW CHANNEL and a new beautiful journey together. 2018 was my craziest year yet, and trust me when I say we are JUST NOW getting started.
Now. The first thing I need to do: I owe you all a huge apology. For those of you who were meant to receive physical rewards this year and didn’t, there was a HUGE glitch between myself and the distributer that we have rectified. The fact that I’m just now figuring all this out is so embarrassing and I apologize profusely for not delivering faster. However, we’ve got it going now and your postcards, CDs and packages shall arrive shortly if they haven’t already.
I’m also catching up on my last few personal videos that I meant to finish but then got very sick. Gearing up for rehearsals I’m having to be so so careful as my voice still gets tired fast. But I’m almost there!
In better news, we’ve made changes and improvements to our rewards for 2019!!!!!! My goal is for you all to feel loved and valued, and to receive your rewards in a timely manner. I’ve had to cut back a bit on the physical rewards because that ended up not being sustainable or streamlined for us and left you all in the dark, but I’m upping the content and the engagement you all will get from me in return. So I hope that will be fun for everyone involved!! My goal is also to have chat sessions and respond to all Patreon comments, so that should be exciting.

One thing I’m not clear on: will I receive all the physical stuff I should have gotten in the past months now, or is it just applicable to future stuff? Cuz I had to downgrade my contributions, unfortunately, but I was still hoping to get that stuff (I was wondering about it.)

2019-01-07 07:00:02 +0000 UTCOne can always hope, but my government, now in interim since they lost the election, has essentially declared a trade-war with Alibaba, the largest mail-order company on the planet (It is Chinese). So as I am concerned, I support you to support you, and prefer non-physical rewards that can be downloaded, or otherwise enjoyed without being dependent on the mail. (Because of work I am barely home to receive mail anyway)

But at the moment Patreon doesn't make it easy for me because of them taking an active part in the culture war. It was ironically Sargon of Akkad that convinced me to join Patreon, and at the moment you are keeping me from leaving Patreon all together. (Not to be jumped by other of your supporters I need to point out I value his political commentary, but do not agree with all of his opinions.) As for receiving physical things in the mail, I do not know if it is worth it. There is a lot of hassle in Sweden due to the customs over reaction to the china-trade that exploded in 2017. (There is an import toll at 25% from the first cent to import things to Sweden from outside the EU, and PostNord charges $10 as an administrative fee to charge the toll). Because of this I prefer digital rewards since they will arrive in the same state they were sent, and they will not be stuck in customs.

I think that most people will be understanding because a lot of the not realizing things weren't getting out properly and the not being able to maintain sending out physical gifts isn't your fault. Patreon gives me a list of Patrons above $30 and I just follow the list, although as I’ve seen new Patrons come in individually I’ve added them and things get mixed around. So there’s really no rhyme nor reason, I don’t prioritize anyone’s names. :)

All of the physical stuff is just icing on the cake, and I'm cool with whatever you can reasonably deliver. I'm curious though.. what determines the order of who goes in the name list on the videos? I was the first for a while.. but i'm not now?
