You can't think of anything to say. His closeness seems to freeze the synapses in your brain, preventing you from taking any action. The slow beating of your heart quickens imperceptibly, but you swear he can feel it through his touch and the way he tenses slightly against your back.
The soul drifting lazily through your fingers appears to feel the sudden tension in the air, if the anxious ripples across its incorporeal form is to be believed.
Something stirs in your essence, like a snake finally uncoiling after an eternity spent asleep. As the serpent goes for the fatal strike, fangs dripping with the poison of passion, you do the only thing you can in this situation, you run.
Making yourself as intangible as the soul tangled around your fingers is easy. At once the light in the room goes through your body, as though your flesh has turned into smoke. Mundane sensations evade you and you quickly float to the other side of the room.
Without your body to support him the sun god almost falls to his face, but thanks to his fast reflexes he quickly recovers. The dark pool and its tame vortex of souls are the only thing standing between you and a sheepish Sol.
Many questions battle for attention in your mind. Does he suspect anything? It is possible that he feels the same way? To see yourself like prey before a feeling that threats to consume you at a mere touch of someone?
"Are you alright? Did I say something wrong?" He muses, mapping your face with his eyes. His words might be light but there's a heaviness in the gentle curve of his golden eyes; he is worried. There's no hint that he felt whatever that was, and you can't shake the feeling of disappointment at the idea.
"You seem paler than usual, if that's even possible." His attempt of a joke falls into deaf ears and you are saved from having to answer his question by the approaching darkness. They must have sensed your distress and came to the rescue.
Ink appears to cascade down the walls of black marble, they seek the precious light coming from the god's essence. Dark oily limbs feebly stretching in his direction, like shadows on a sunny day. They don't seem to want to hurt him, only drive a point that he should leave.
"Alright, alright, I know when I'm not welcome anymore." Sol breaths, voice hoarse and hands raised in surrender. Although the atmosphere in the room is much lighter than it was a few seconds ago.
"It's time for me to go, it seems." He notes, with no small amount of disappointment lacing his words. With heavy steps he makes his way towards the grand opening in the center of the domed ceiling from where he had stormed in just minutes ago.
Before departing he looks at you one last time, an almost sad sigh leaving his lips. "Just... promise me that you will visit whenever you have some free time."
You pause. You know it is a wasted effort to deflect his request, he would certainly find a reason to come visit you again. So you relent, not because he is looking at you with hope twinkling in his golden eyes, not at all.
"I promise."

I can’t wait to beat Sol’s ass. Death’s hands are rated E for everybody. The divine hammer of justice don’t discriminate. All of them catching paws.
