The deafening noise of rusted gears scraping against each other fills the dark room, the ground you are kneeling on begins to shake as the sound keeps getting louder and louder—without a way out it turns into reverberating echoes bouncing against the stone walls.
You soon realize the floor is actually moving, several thick metal plates begin to slide away forming a perfect void around you of at least seven feet in all directions. You squint your eyes, but you only see total darkness as if you're surrounded by a black hole. The ground you're kneeling on seems pretty sturdy so you take solace on that fact, but you can barely see the stone anymore, for all you know your knees are only touching a pool of blood, your blood.
Soon the darkness starts to melt away as a stone platform takes its place, however, you can barely make any details until the orange light from the many torches reaches it.
There was a reason why you couldn't see the platform at first, it's completely made of black glass, no not glass, it seems to be a glassy rock of some sort. And then it hits you—fissures running across the platform that at first seemed random but now their true purpose are revealed.
The rock is obsidian, and a summoning sigil is engraved on it.
