I’ve said this other places since this arc has started but as someone who’s rare combo of chronic health issues has made it that I am practically an just a vampire (all the way down to the borderline sun allergy) that being a vamp sucks. It’s not fun. I get sun burnt from FLORESCENT LIGHTS, and can’t go out w/o 100spf and yet I still get burned. And I do have a sun umbrella oppa vamp harwon in shadow fell style, but even then it only does so much and people tend to look at me weird lol. Esp when my gallon bottle of electrolyte mix is bright red bc I added fruit punch crystal lite to it so it doesn’t taste like ass

2025-07-23 02:49:38 +0000 UTCto be fair, the citations on that website are from 2013 and earlier, there have been further studies done on the effectiveness of acupuncture in terms of treating symptoms, though it does not treat the core issue. Considering how we are still in our infancy and understanding pain and pain relief, I think it’s fair to say that the science is still not proven or disproven- this article links to a bunch of the more recent studies on the topic. In short, acupuncture is generally recommended as a supplemental treatment, to relieve symptoms, not as a cure all. https://www.washingtonpost.com/wellness/2023/07/24/does-acupuncture-work-chronic-pain/ additionally, I wonder how many studies differentiate between different schools of acupuncture, because there are differences between Chinese versus Korean versus Indian versus Japanese , and modalities such as dry needling, 5 element, etc. I guess I would recommend acupuncture before I would recommend chiropractic, as acupuncture has had far fewer injuries! And I think that if someone is curious about acupuncture, you can try it and see if it makes you feel better. It might well be a placebo effect, but placebo effects can still be effective at reducing the psychological aspects of chronic pain, and I think that is still worthwhile. Just keep your expectations realistic, understand what goes into getting licensed, and if you don’t feel comfortable, don’t go back!
