2022-01-04 14:14:12 +0000 UTCI have to say, as a die hard NADDPOD fan from day 1, I have an unhealthy addiction to Bahomia, whether it be nostalgia of the adventure along with the players or my first real DnD podcast experience I can't really say, probably a mix of both. When I heard this announcement, the tingle of anticipation and excitement was palpable throughout the room... (to the point of an open joyful outburst of emotion that truly chilled and frightened my 3 year old daughter causing a guilt I now must harbor...) I have listened to campaign one from beginning to end at least 4 different times now, and will probably never stop it has become a comfort food of sorts while at work, so thank you all for that. This truly lifted my recently sullen mood and I believe this to be the greatest gift given to me this hoglidaze season. To Murph, thank you for this fantastic opptunity I could not be more excited to experience Bahumia in a whole new way. Jake, Caldwell, and Emily, Thank you guys so much for the laughs, and the characters I truly do rely on to get through those tough days. I can't wait for more. Best, Zach S.

2022-01-02 03:09:01 +0000 UTCAnd here I am, with a rat rogue and a wild magic changeling with dissociative identity disorder haha My rogue's story is basically that's she was a lab rat for a mad alchemist, turned into a rat-humanoid hybrid and she ran away with her still-very-much-a-rat-brother. Halfling stats, level 9 rogue with 3 levels of fighter, this character is B-R-O-K-E-N haha but it was my first character and I swear I didn't optimize it like that on purpose. Just chose what seemed fun to play at the time. My changeling is Murph's worse nightmare : I chose my spells, I chose my 3 other identities, but they are PTSD trigger-based on a backstory that I know almost nothing about. My DM has fleshed out a traumatic event from my past from which the alters protect me. They have a knowledge of the main girl, but she doesn't know them. I never know when I'm going to change! Makes for pretty funny situations since they're all so different (main is shy, 1st alter is a little hyperactive girl, 2nd is a super stern female elf, and last one is a very flirty man). That with the wild magic, it's just a fun chaotic time.

2021-12-31 22:46:49 +0000 UTC@Jake if you play an EK you should definitely take Silvery Barbs introduced in Strixhaven. It’s like shield but better imposing disadvantage on any successful roll. Then you can give someone advantage on their next attack roll, etc.

I think that would make it feel like too much of a continuation of the first campaign instead of a return to a beloved setting.

2021-12-31 14:39:01 +0000 UTCI'm not going to go back and read everything so feel free to ignore this if it was already said, but 200 years means nothing for the Band of Boobs, Moonshine's Timeless Body means that she can live for 7,500 years. If she started the campaign at 20 years old, then she's now the equivalent of a 40 year old Elf. Beverly is an Undying Sentinel and simply doesn't suffer the harms of old age including dying from it. He can still be a 216 year old goofball. Finally, Hardwon could come back at any time using True Resurrection. The spell can't bring someone back if they died of old age, but Hardwon has died before and they're all crazy enough that they could kill him with a Disintegrate spell (after an awesome crickwater fueled battle royal ceremonial-murder party) and return him to life in a new young body.

2021-12-31 02:00:03 +0000 UTCI'm only halfway into the episode, but I want to chime in and say that a peace between dwarves and frost giants in a frozen mountain kingdom sounds fucking metal as hell, and "a country of big tough dudes" is exactly what I would want to embrace as a player. That's why I need to speak to Jake specifically: Jake, you are your own person, your character is yours to play, but if you embrace this tough guy frozen warrior idea, you have the chance to play fighter for a THIRD CAMPAIGN IN A ROW, and I think that's HILARIOUS. It's also genuinely a huge, huge buff to the image of fighters in the public sphere since so many people think they're a boring, basic class for new players. Not only that, but you have a chance now to play a third HUMAN fighter, the most white bread commonly-mocked "boring" option in a fantasy world, and you have a chance to OWN it, playing three completely unique, lovable characters that are all human fighters on a beloved DnD podcast. I do not want to corner you and say you have to do this. I will adore literally whatever you want to explore because I've grown to love your style over the course of the podcast. But I do want to emphasize that I think Jake being "the guy who always plays human fighter (but surprise, they're always a banger)" is VERY FUNNY. Also, don't forget that Rune Knight is a fighter subclass literally themed around giants and their runes that lets you grow to giant size.

A fey who is outside the rules of the courts because they're not technically of any of the seasons. That way, you could still use the blue + white dice!

So many options stemming from that. I've always been curious about stat generation for this show. I imagine it's point buy but maybe it's standard array or even a zoom call dice roll 4 drop 1

I immediately started sweating profusely thinking about the fact that I'm running an entire campaign around that premise. All six of my players don't know who they are and are constantly learning about their past and who they are. (It's a very fun & cool campaign though!)
