When reading the Inheritance Cycle (the Eragon series) for the first time, I didn't know I skipped a whole book... I read Eragon, apparently skipped Eldest and went straight to Brisingr. There was some time between books but it still took me a few chapters to figure it out lol. Highly recommend the series though!

I was wondering why the finale felt so rushed & confusing, but I didn’t realize until I finished the episode and looked at my Spotify🤦🏼♀️
2021-11-27 19:56:46 +0000 UTCI did similar with a Gaiman novel audiobook (Neverwhere maybe?), they'd split the book into 2 parts, but the two parts didn't link up correctly in numbering so I accidentially listened to Part 1 track 1, Part 2 track 1, Part 1 track 2, Part 2 track 2... for the whole book. I assumed the story just cut back and forth in time, and really enjoyed it! Didn't realise there was a problem until the very end when there was a clear last chapter and then just a random chapter after...

It was Chuck Palahniuk's "Choke" and this was back in like 2007, when it was easiest to just get audiobooks off Limewire. Unfortunately the tracks were not labeled correctly... Someone decided to just number them randomly I guess. The first one was correct enough that it didn't raise a red flag and I was familiar enough with Palahniuk's work that the disjointed narrative didn't seem strange. I got at least 3/4 through before realizing that something was revealed out of order and just ended up finishing the book that way. One day I'll reread it the right way 😅

2021-11-19 03:28:37 +0000 UTCNot only did I think the Phillip + Zirk hold me back moment was hilarious I also thought it was such a good moment for Zirk’s character because Prophet Cain has had (arguably) the most effect on Zirk personally out of the Choo Choo Crew he killed Spritel and his mentor/substitute parental figure with him leaving his mother so that was honestly very powerful to me! Amazing as always I can’t believe we’re so close to the finale!
