I love these but it's weird that none of the judges are familiar with the PHB. like the idea that paying a monthly fee is part of a character background is in the Guild Artisan's thing but they act all shocked about the concept

He went full send, ate everything, smoke and drank, deplorable things with hookers and became an obese mass of flesh that kept grilled cheese sandwiches in his folds and died of a heart attack mid-party without anyone realizing for hours. I love that y'all are sticking with the fan made intro! I'm sure I'm a bit late to the game but the idea of a fan making something for y'all and it becoming a staple of dnd court.

For the wisdom one - my dm did a very similar thing to this once. He pulled myself and another character and just asked if we wanted to play doppelgängers that had replaced the real characters in a dungeon. It was just too fun to pass up and we both agreed. If it was a roll, I would have rolled, but I like that we got the choice to say no.

I have a player an experienced player do the multiple beings in one body and do it well, it was really helpful i wanted to play he was tired of dming so his character and his multiple reincarnations helped build and shape my homebrew world and because he is so tied to the lore but also vague enough to be flexible, he rolls a d8 every new day in campaign and so far it has worked very well but definitely needs a lot of preparation, and because of what hes done my entire party wants to dm and with the whole reincarnation thing weve actually tied all of our homebrews into one connected timeline makes for very fun play

Murph thinking that loot would make for bad radio is very interesting to me. Obviously nobody wants to hear the loot table being rolled or the players haggling over rope but if I had to guess most players would be relieved to hear Emily say "we restock our potions", and would enjoy hearing that they looted the cool magic flail the gnoll was using.

Really weird the guy was so hard stuck on it being SAO related but for extra clarification in the anime everyone is stuck in the game and if they take off their headset they die and if they die in the game they die in real life. Also Caldwell was right season 2 and 3 are bad but season 4 is worth a watch.

In a similar situation to the first case, I was once playing a game of Betrayal At the House on the Hill with my wife and some friends. We had more players than the game has characters, so my wife decided to create a new one. She named the character after our friend's husband who we aren't super close to. He started to get kinda upset about it. She even made all these arguments on why the character should have really high stats because the guy was a really fit doctor. He just didn't seem chill with it and started whispering to his wife and they left before we even got to play.

A couple years back I played a game where one of the PCs was an old man from the Bronx who went to take a sh*t and when he opened the door to the bathroom, he walked into the world we were playing in. It was a lot of fun riffing off of him & listening to the VR headset story made me feel so blessed that I got to experience the good version of an isekai party member instead of a VR SAO nightmare.

I had a player also play a changeling with multiple discrete personalities, but they were just a warlock; only certain invocations were available to each personality, so they had to be built as a generalist. the player was a forever-DM and was an extremely competent player. Everyone had a lot of fun goofing on the rp of their characters (not players) hated some personalities and loved others. It ended up being really important to the plot and everything slotted into place. Sadly the campaign is on indefinite hiatus because of people moving and scheduling, the true final boss of ttrpgs.

Emily falling apart over the first case killed me! 😂😂😂 With the 6 characters in one, I think Caldwell and Co have a great idea, make the player choose a character to hold onto and their story could be a "giving peace to" 5 of the other characters. It would be SO hard to manage all those characters!
