Thought on the dragon grapple. The player said they were hanging from the ceiling and that he was holding the dragon by the neck, so it's wings were free. Yes the dragon wouldn't be able to move because of the grapple but couldn't it have opened its wings to have potentially slowed the descent of the ape slamming it into the ground? Make it a Dex or Str check. That way the player could still have tried to do the slam but the DM could've lessened the damage it would've taken. To me that seems like a good way to make it fair to both sides

agree with Justice Murphy about the dual wielder feat and fighting style. You get to use a bonus action as your off hand attack after you've already attacked. AND as a fighter you will action surge and extra attack SO you could go "attack, extra attack, bonus action off hand attack ACTION SURGE attack, again" giving Emily her 4 attacks. Unless you keep gaining levels in fighter and get multiple extra attacks.

the benefits of duel wield and extra attack is that according to two weapon fighting you only use the bonus action to attack with your off hand when you hit with your main hand. So you just get an extra chance to use the bonus action off hand attack. I had fun with a wild surge barbarian and two axes, but I wasn't shooting for the most damage possible, I was shooting for fun with friends.

Yeah dual-wielding gives you one extra attack only, even with the feat, which is admittedly still REALLY good for how 5e mechanically works. Gotta be careful with that multiclass tho, bc unless you got war caster you can’t cast ANY somatic spells with weapons in both hands.

I think they specified that they are "Huge Sized" snails which is an actual sized specified in the rules which takes up a certain area rather than just "huge snails"

Question, we've talked about giant animals before here being multiple times larger than the normal ones. Wouldn't these snails only really be the size of like dogs?? That's a HUGE snail.... There's no reason they need to be the height of the room right?

Fighting fires with a broom is a real thing. I'm a firefighter and we carry special brooms for combating grass fires. They are made out of metal but putting out a fire with a broom is a perfectly reasonable thing to do!

I may have misread but I swear that the rules say that magic items arent that easy to destroy.

Emily had a good point. "Most magic items are objects of extraordinary artisanship. Thanks to a combination of careful crafting and magical reinforcement, a magic item is at least as durable as a nonmagical item of its kind. Most magic items, other than potions and scrolls, have resistance to all damage. Artifacts are practically indestructible, requiring extraordinary measures to destroy." So it depends on if they put into the story that the broom was an artifact or magical item. It's more fun if the broom lights on fire though and the player can use it to write in the sky in smoke "screw you DM" as he tumbles to earth.

The DM trying to force multiclassing should look into gestalt leveling (https://www.reddit.com/r/DnDBehindTheScreen/comments/az6hto/5th_edition_gestalt_rules_for_combination_classes/). I doubt the players would turn down a few free levels of class abilities while keeping their capstones. It makes them way more powerful but you can fix that in the encounter balancing.
