Mixed Bag of Holding: D&D Court (Part II) - Oops All Edgelords!

I think this has the 5th over all pronunciation of Sahuagin on the podcast. I personally have no idea how to say it lol

Harry Kearns

As a DM, I've always defined Metagaming as having a PC acting on knowledge they shouldn't have. Your level 20 Paladin in another campaign might have faced a beholder and knows what it can do. Your Level 5 Druid in this campaign won't know that. That being said, Emma was TOTALLY bullied!

As someone with a degree in library and archival science: having a book completely submerged in water, especially an old book (which is how I imagine all spell books?) would almost definitely completely destroy it.

I work at a grocery store, and the customers will always think we care about them buying an extra banana or some crap and freak out and say we try to scam them

Sawyer Rogers

it's when you have too much stabilizer in your pool

Rachel Indelicato

LOL CHOLRINE LOCK!

Rachel Indelicato

They added potion-brewing rules in Xanathar's Guide to Everything (I think), along with descriptions of what's in certain kits (ex: herbalism, alchemy) and things you can do with them. It's super useful.

Keith Kelly

Would a bag of holding opened under water be immediately over filled with water and broken?

Caoimhe

I didn’t know your last initial before but I knew it had to be you! It made me so happy to hear. Even though that person sucked big time.

Heidi Nehls

"The Justice League of Shitheads" killed me. I'm totally with Murph here. Players need a reason to be doing all these things together. If everyone's an edgelord, you're gonna get nothing done and hate everyone the whole time. Why would your character stick around for that?

This ep had my crying with laughter so hard. Please keep doing this, if only for more chances to hear you guys riff off eachother and just continue to be some of my favourite comedians out there 😂 😂

Bat-Fran

Some of these were kinda sad

Justin Harris

If it would please the court, however, knowing the RayLore. I would say that Raymond would often snub his wife's cooking (often Lemon Chicken) in lieu of his mother's cooking. Thus, not being "treats" on a regular basis.

Victor T (Balnor's Boy)

Never have I felt so glad to be told I've been bullied.

Emma Horton

Oh my lord, I identify so hard with the rude-boy party question. I got invited to join my friend's side campaign that she plays with her regular group, and they all made explicitly shitty, anti-social characters. They think it's fun and hilarious, but since I'm not in any other games, it sucks for me that my only opportunity to play is with people who are going out of their way to be difficult.

How to make healing potions in 5e: Herbalism kit + cost and work time based on level of healing potion. Regular healing potion is 25 gp and 8 hours of work.

Enahs

Thanks for answering my question! I loved your advice, specifically Caldwell's about check ins and having a better session 0. It's a lot of the players first time RPing and playing, but there's NO EXCUSE for edglording

Petition to start calling Jake Jake Herb(or Herb)witz

Lisquander

Well, I guess I need to write some Brian Murphy sexy pool boy fan fiction now.

Is Wearing a Mask to prevent Covid Metagaming? The result may surprise you.

Orpheus

When our Druid in 3.5 refused to heal us, I was granted a way to create healing arrows for my ranger. It was great! We decided they hurt like hell. 😈 One guy complained they were too powerful and his girlfriend yelled at him and asked him if he wanted her character to die. 🍿

Sarah Trimble-Tutor

Debra did in fact make something really delicious in one episode! https://youtu.be/2Im5KzoqbmI

Sarah Trimble-Tutor

This absolutely needs to be a recurring thing!!!

Charlie Karls

Thanks for taking up my case! I laughed super hard and appreciated the kind words. It really made my night!

I'm allergic to chlorine. PLEASE don't feed me pool water. 😅

Emily

I want more D&D court! So much fun!

Murph, I was working at an Oyster Bar in college and a drunken patron threatened to kick my teeth in if I didn't shake his hand (I didn't) and they had to call the cops

Benjamin Stalnaker

I really like the part at the end when Murph and Jake talk about their jobs when they were young.

William

Very fun ep! I did think of a confession watching it. Sometimes, on games where I roll like absolute dog crap, I’ll fudge my rolls in such a way that it won’t actually change the outcome of the game, but at least I won’t look like someone who literally can’t roll above a 5. The main example of this is when in a fight when making an attack, I keep an eye on the enemy’s AC, and when I inevitably roll a 3 again I’ll say it was maybe 2-3 points under their AC. Of course I don’t fudge the nat 1s, but when you have die that hate you and leave you averaging around a 7 on all your roll sometimes I just wanna pretend to be competent.

Maddy Leaman

These were a GREAT time I'd absolutely love to hear more in the future!

Kestrel

Replacing spell books is really an insane hassle for wizards and they basically lose everything they’ve learned through the whole game, if you’re going off of the rules in the phb. They’d only have access to the spells they prepared that day and would have to find the other spells elsewhere in the world and pay to replace them.

Walter Lajara

Love the new intro. Delicious bonus content.
