I’m not murph but i’ve been DMing for a few years now and can definitely say i’ve fudged rolls for the sake of story, funny one in my last session: the party wild sorcerer wild magic surged and casts fly on a random target (this being in a boss battle with this dragonborn paladin who kicked their butts a while back) i rolled to see who the fly spell was cast on and it was just some random goblin but I instead said the roll made him target the main boss because it was so much better and made for a much more memorable fight. I’ll also occasionally fudge a roll to stop my players from just getting destroyed in a fight (i dislike saving players, no risk of death means none of the fun of escaping death or the sadness of dying) sometimes the dice tell the wrong story and it’s your job as a DM to tell the correct one. If your boss can’t ever hit anything because you can’t roll above a 6 then wow that 6 is a 16 now. If your BBEG has just had is 5th 20 in a row... maybe that 20 was a 19... it’s good to have stakes but sometimes you need to consider what makes the story overall more fun.

To Murph: how are you going to handle the time passing differently between planes (I know you talked about this once before but it seemed like you hadn't decided at that point). To the Team: Have you considered holding a contest or a raffle for listeners to create a character that can be briefly incorporated to the storyline as an NPC or even as a villian? To Emely: Now that it has been discovered that Moonshine is half high Elf, are you going to incorporate that to your playstyle and roleplay? It seems like moonshine is always telling others to accept themselves for who they are, is she going to take her own advice and embrace the half high elf?

Hi Murph, how do you approach designing sessions? I just started DMing a campaign right now that *will* have an overarching narrative but as of now is mainly just episodic (PCs are island-hopping). I'm finding it hard to come up with ideas that aren't just "Hey here's a dungeon, you have to solve a riddle/puzzle to get in, then beat up some minions, then kill the boss." Any tips or tricks to diversifying your encounters? I really admire your creativity in making each NADDPod episode so unique from each other but always fulfilling to its players. Thanks!

To Brain- Are there many cases where you will change many aspects of an enemy to make them more manageable for the gang, or do you mainly change things for flavor? An example is with Queen Ezra: removing “power word kill” and also changing aspects of “flesh to stone” by removing concentration, but getting rid of the saving mechanics (the original spell is you have to succeed 3 times or fail 3 times to know the final outcome, similar to death saves).

According to the 5e Dungeon Master's Guide, "you can choose a time change that works best for your campaign, if any, or roll on the Feywild Time Warp table," once a creature or group leaves the Feywild (page 51, 12/2014 printing). For the Bahumia campaign, the BoB have technically left the Feywild. Will Murph elect to delay this time warp effect until the gang returns to the material plane? In any case, will Murph make the decision based on a roll or on what is best for the campaign?

Murph, it always amusing listening to Hardone and Moonshine awkwardly skirt around any romantic connotations of their relationship, but recently with the kiss, the drunken nights together it looks like the characters might be exploring the possibility of feelings for each other. How odd is it for you DM your friend and your Wife acting like awkward college students trying to figure if maybe they should bang? Emily and Jake, is there anything there? Or is it just that weird thing friends when they both have Cooperating sexualities, like hey uhh? Maybe fuck?

Would #2 Dad consider following his #2 Son into becoming a Grey Knight? I am about to start a new DND campaign and it's my first time playing. How do all of you get into your characters specific traits and mindset?

Q: I've noticed that you have taken a bit of inspiration from the mistborn series in this chapter as far as a names and prison scenes go. Have you thought of incorporating other literary inspirations into your campaign or possibly adapting magic systems?

Emily made a joke recently about something being a problem "for the next campaign". In that hypothetical campaign after the campaign after the campaign, what do you all think would be the most narratively interesting/funniest downfalls and corruptions for the by-then Legendary Boobs to experience? That is, what is the equivalent of Theala going power-mad and seeking godhood or Ulfgar becoming her crazed puppet, but for Hardwon, Moonshine, Bev and Balnor? Hopefully that makes sense. Love the show!

What was the thought process behind the decision for Gemma to choose not to reincarnate but instead remain dead?
