Dev Log 09-Sep-2024

Hello!

It's been a bit. I haven't updated because for the past week and a half I kept hoping I'd have a less maddening day at work, but no such luck. I've been in overtime a lot lately and haven't gotten much work in for the game. I'm really hoping this won't keep going for much longer, but I figured I'd update because I do have some stuff to talk about anyway.

As I get further into the story, I realize that the way things would make most sense is for Day 5 to be the finale to Chapter 2, so that's what I'll be doing. That does mean it's going to have to be longer, but it's also what's best for the story. It also helps keep it at a good pace so it doesn't drag on. Overall, this choice is going to improve the story and I'll be happy to reach the middle of the story, at last.

Apart from that, I've been writing and it's going steady, but I just can't seem to write a lot. Like I'm writing often, but something just isn't clicking to get me into a flow state. Not much I can do about that except keep going and wait for it to work itself out. At least the writer's block got better.

Anyway, hope you're having a wonderful day!

It's somewhat similar here, but I see it as more of a tragedy. I've been working for the company since very near its beginning and I'm gradually seeing it lose its soul.

The company I work for has become a madhouse, and I give it two more years at most. The last few weeks have been hard, but now it's turned into something else—a kind of fascination, not unlike watching something enormous burn down up close until nothing is left. There's a certain beauty in it. Here’s to less madness at work.

Better is the goal.:) I don't envy you about overtime because my body wouldn't be able to handle it (it stopped doing so in my early twenties).
