Update on Things
Added 2023-01-21 12:00:44 +0000 UTC*(Read all of this if you haven't seen the updates on discord)*
So I have been posting updates on the discord, but I figured I should go ahead and post an update on here too for the people that still haven't joined discord yet (you really should join, since most news is posted there).
I injured myself back on Dec. 20th when I fell down the stairs and had a huge hematoma on my back and buttocks that I am still dealing with. For several weeks, I couldn't really sit on it because it was so large (11 inches in diameter and stood out like 3 inches) and very painful. I had bruising from my lower back all the way down my leg to below my knee, so I couldn't really sit at my computer to do modeling, lol.
But all that said, I am back busy at work working on the Legion of Carnage models. Between the injury, issues with my dogs health and the fact that these models are taking more time to make with the trim work I am doing on them than any models I have made in the past, the release has been greatly delayed.
Basically, since I never did the LoC Berzerkers in any official armor mark, I am now making them in mk2-mk6 armor in one release. I have majorly underestimated how long this would take to sculpt all of these armor pieces for each armor mark though, as I thought that since I had the base models made the detailing would be quicker, but it's actually turned out to be much longer since this trim design I am doing is so time consuming to do.
Currently, I have made mk2 and most of mk3, so I just have to make mk4-6. Thankfully, many of the parts between 4-6 are actually the same, such as the shins on mk4 and mk5 being the same design, just one has studs. So I hopefully won't have to sculpt 3 or 4 different shin designs for both mk4 and mk5.
All of that is to say, that yes I am still working on this release, it's just hands down the largest release I have ever done, so it's taking me much longer to do than I thought it would, so I am not exactly sure when I will actually be finished with it.
The roadmap has stayed the same though, after I finish these models, I will make 40k red butchers in catafractii armor in the same style I am doing these LoC models in. After that, I will move on to doing the Midnight Counts in mk2-mk6 armor. Their trim will be a little easier, so hopefully, it won't take half as long to do each piece like the LoC models have been taking.
GOOD NEWS is that at the end of the month, Veronica will have the Hydra legion releases resupported since those were the first models she supported for HM, and there have been reported issues with those model supports.
I wish I could say a definite time frame that I will have this mammoth of a release finished, but I really don't know since there is so much I have planned, and so much to do. I could do things faster if I compromised with my vision for these models and settled on doing something subpar from what I have planned, but I don't want to do that, I want to give each armor mark the attention it deserves and really show the LoC some love (since if the leaked roster of units for the WE codex is anything to go off of WE won't be getting much love). LoC is definitely one of my favorite legions, so I really want to do it justice, and I want to be able to deliver all of you the quality I know I am capable of.
So, thank you all for your continued support and understanding.
