3000 Patrons... wow. 

When I started working on College Kings about 11 months ago, I would have never imagined that so many people would play it, love it and even decide to give money to help its development.  

I remember what it was like working on the demo, the first 20 minutes of gameplay. It took 2 months, with 16 hour days, many all-nighters and an immense uncertainty over what would come out of it.  
I had never done games. I had never programmed anything, never done any renders, nor had I even been a player of AVNs. In fact, I didn't play my first AVN until after development of CK had already started. If my lack of experience and skill in the technical department wasn't enough, I also didn't know how to write. I had no idea what a good story looked like, felt like and played like. Honestly, all I had was a vision. A vision for a story based game that would allow you to experience real relationships. Real attractions, real love, real emotions. I wanted to create something that would allow you to decide how you wanna act and and to suffer the consequences for it. With realistic drawbacks and trade-offs for each and every decision you make.

We launched on 2nd October 2020 and gained about 1000 players and 100 patrons in our first month. Since then CK has exploded and is played by over 300,000 unique users world wide. We have players in almost every single country and a team of over 20 full-timers and freelancers that work their hardest to give you the best possible update each month.

We've gone through a lot of hardships. From our best people quitting unexpectedly over contractors not delivering on their promises to outright attempts to steal from us. Building this game, this team and this community, is the hardest thing I've ever done and it's still a work-in-progress. It probably always will be. But, if you can look past the anxiety & stress inducing burnout factory that is running College Kings, this has been the most blessed year of my life.

I've seen uni dropouts turn into fantastic managers, I've seen people who hated their old job find passion and love at CK and I've seen quiet introverts turn into confident leaders. Our team has some of the most incredible people I've ever met and I'm so happy to call many of them not just my co-workers, but my really good friends.

The love & support you as a community has sent me and my team has been unmatched by anything I've ever experienced. I know that being a CK supporter isn't always easy. We make wacky decisions, we take risks that don't always pay off and we sometimes even temporarily lose our way...

But what's important is that we always find it back. We will always try our absolute best to make each and every update as exciting, fun-to-play and unique as possible, even if that means making one or two mistakes along the way.

Because after all, we came to make the most exciting and life-like AVN ever created and we will do whatever it takes to get there.
