Important Poll: Changing The Release Cycle
Added 2020-11-17 21:41:16 +0000 UTCHey everyone,
In the last 2 months I've learned a lot about what makes the game feel great and what makes it feel disappointing.
When I started, I didn't have any patrons, discord members or helpers so I just wanted to gather community feedback with frequent releases. Now, this frequent release cycle has made the last few updates feel a bit rushed and short.
As I've said before, I care deeply about making College Kings an amazing game that you can proudly compare against any other adult game out there. It's still a long way to go, but I believe that on important step towards it might be increasing the time in between releases.
What this would mean:
- Bigger releases
- Less bugs, less questionable decisions
- Better dialogue
- Less frequent updates (possibly 2-3 months between releases)
What this would NOT mean:
- Me slacking and doing less work overall:
I will work just as hard, but I'll put more emphasis on beta testing and making the game quality greater.
- Patrons having less transparency over what's going on:
I will post frequent updates (around twice a week)
- Patrons getting less benefits:
Patrons will still get the newest updates one or more weeks before everyone else, but instead of being beta-testers, you'll get an already polished version.
I haven't made my decision yet and I'd love to get all of your input on it!
As this is a very big decision that affects everyone, I will make this poll available to all tiers.
All the best,
Undergrad Steve

I personally enjoy having more content to play with rather than 10ish minutes of playtime every two or so weeks
2020-11-20 20:16:04 +0000 UTCIMO, if your updates are better in terms of quality and contents, I really don't mind waiting for 2-3 months.
2020-11-20 06:14:50 +0000 UTCTry the 2-3 months and if it doesn't work out then go back to two weeks. Some people need more accountability to themselves to get things done, others are fine with longer deadlines.

2020-11-18 19:06:31 +0000 UTC^ I agree with many of the others. Monthly would be great. 2-3 months sometimes makes it to where I start losing interest.

2020-11-18 03:44:42 +0000 UTCLike slock said, its really up to you and how you feel. But the best option is for the 2-3 months . This gives you overall time to go over it all and make sure it is up to amazing standards - not like it isn't already. 2-3 months gives more time for more renders also. So, really its up to you. Maybe stick to the every 2 weeks for a certain period, then slowly transition in the 2-3 months and see how it feels. :)
2020-11-18 01:10:17 +0000 UTCI'd just stick with whatever works for you tbh. Maybe you don't even have to stick to a schedule, just release updates whenever you think they're ready to be put out.

2020-11-17 22:18:48 +0000 UTCmore frequent updates means news about game will spread quicker. But no content on frequent release might be offputting, thus 1-2 months usually works
