Police have got to get with the times & threats women face. They’re basically saying “Sorry, we can’t do anything until you’re physically assaulted or killed” “Good luck out there”. Restraining orders don’t keep people safe from creeps who want to harm you. Criminals don’t care about a piece of paper.

This is the first time I have ever heard of someone else having to legally change their name because of a stalker situation. 3 years ago I had to legally change myself and my children’s names and moved to keep us safe. Thank you for acknowledging how hard it was to change our identities. The few people that I was able to keep in contact with didn’t seem to understand that part.

No hate to Garrett - but when he wasn't getting the threat immediately in the beginning with the convo in front of her apt - just shows some of the innocenct/privlege of men in general, who don't have that constant alert that a woman does with any random man who not only invades our space bubble - but the awareness we naturally have when they are even lingering close by. So frustrating to be a woman just trying to live life!
