This is my new favorite episode

Me either but I feel like I have to send a gift regardless- lose lose hahahh

Steph

I don’t like going to Weddings either.

I have also been in a strange “over all foods” mood lately

I’m not Indian, but I grew up in a neighborhood with a lot of Indian families.. and obviously I’m not from that culture so I can’t say this with any authority… but I can say that they definitely culturally operate very differently from what most of us in the US are used to. Fully respecting matriarchs/patriarchs is SUPER important… if I had to guess, I would think that that may have played a big role in the family following Lalit’s lead. If they believed that he really was sort of the patriarch reincarnated (something which is super common with some spiritual beliefs in India).. this is such a fascinating case for so many reasons!!

A big thing also is culture. Superstition plays a big part in getting a whole family to actually follow what one family member “thinks/feels.” I am Latina and I’ve seen “crazy” beliefs like that believed by all family members.

So crazy! I never heard of this- another great episode! Wonder what Priyanka’s fiancé thought? Did you find any interviews with him?

Steph

Yolo!!!! 🩷 it

Steph
