So did the friend who checked on Ellen turn the air up and let the house get to a normal temperature before the police came? I imagine if you call 911 and say there is a dead pregnant person in this house the police would get there pretty quickly and relies the house was cold.

I literally almost screamed when I found out

I don't think the friend (Ellen's ex-lover) who checked in would be a viable suspect because the husband was the one to ask him to go and check on his wife - which I think could have been an intentional decision on the husband's part to possibly turn attention to the friend with the 'sexual motive' ploy with the underwear, but it didn't play through maybe the way he had wanted it to because the police didn't (at least officially) make that connection?? Also regarding the daughter who only came forward years later, it reminds me of a New Tricks episode (a police unit of retired detectives look into cold cases) where the younger sister of the victim only comes forward with information and evidence anonymously years later as an adult - they find out who she is by thinking about who would be close enough to the case to know that information, but wouldn't or wasn't able to come forward at the time - a child could be too scared or not really understand something/connect the dots fully - also the parents/adults around her could've made an effort to shield her from what was actually happening at the time until she was older (admitting to having one of your close friends who you've had in the same house as your children be suspected for murdering his own wife and unborn child would be a frightening realisation, and probably didn't want their kids to be scared shitless) - if she did know at the time, I know if it were me as a nine year old my mind would automatically be terrified that he would come after me or my family and would spiral it into a paranoid 'have to keep quiet' secret until I was old enough to understand the systems in place that protect witnesses (most of the time at least) and come forward then.

Why didn’t they check the husbands arms and body after the murder since she put up such a fight?

Ya'll MWMH was going to do an episode with Kendall Rae & Her husband Josh. But Josh got sick and it didn't happen but imagine this COLLAB! 😭😭

Can you do Kendrick Johnson’s case the highscooler that was found in a rolled up gym Matt & then later it was discovered his organs where replaced with news paper?!? It’s a CRAZY case!

I do remember you guys did an episode where the dad killed his whole family including his mom, then turned the ac, all the lights and the radio and ran away for good. I took neighbors like a month to notice... This one could be a case where the husband killed the wife and tried to cover it

Did we get 2 bonus episodes last month?

I enjoy the podcast! Look forward to every Sunday and super excited when there’s bonus episodes. Always makes my week.

I kept thinking about the evidence under her nails! Why didn’t they try to match that with his dna? Also if they initially thought it was a sexually motivated homicide, did they do a rape kit? Or did they just go off of what was on the sheets and the underwear thing? Also, Ed was someone who apparently had a high iq, he might’ve had some form of autism or something like that which would explain some of his behavior, and he had already agreed to stay with Ellen, did they not check with his mistress again? If the time of death was inconclusive then they could’ve looked more into her? And the movie detail, maybe he watched it with someone (the friend she had an affair with or Nancy) and he was thinking maybe they did it? Or like Garret said maybe he was working with someone else? Him wearing a long shirt isn’t that weird to me since he was on a boat. My grandpa wears long sleeve dressy shirts in Miami at 90 degree weather all the time to avoid a sunburn. Anyways, this case is weird lol

I’m freaking out right now because I just found out that my two favorite podcasts collided! Can’t wait to hear the Mile higher murder with my husband podcast episode

I took the long way home from work to listen to the bonus episode. Gas prices are high but I just LOVE listening to you guys while I drive! It’s a thing lol ❤️

🤣Garret I heard the same thing
