Yay!! An NZ case !! True crime is always more real when it happens so close!! I remember the day of this guy's trial, I watched the media updates and the details of the case that were allowed to be released after the trial, like a hawk! It was harrowing! I was so proud of NZ for how they held vigils for grace and the police did an amazing job to support her family. The lead detective even went to England for her funeral. T This is one of the few crime cases where the police did an immaculate job.
My friend actually dated Graces killer a couple years before this incident, we all knew he was strange and we're happy when it ended. I never once thought he could take it this far though. It's crazy to think we live among such mentally unwell and dangerous people!

I lived in Auckland NZ for a year when I was 19… I am from Eugene OR. I met a guy on tinder, met up with him for the first time in downtown Auckland…. We ended up dating for the remainder of the year that I was there, and then moved to Australia together. This case gives me so many feels!! 8 years ago, I was putting myself in that EXACT situation and I can only thank God that I didn’t end up in a bad situation!!

Eeeek, I remember sending in this case for you guys to do! But I can imagine I wasn’t the only one. I’m from NZ and this case was crazy! The reason they wouldn’t release his name to begin with was because he got name suppression and anytime his name was mentioned in the media meant that the law wouldn’t be able to prosecute him. This case was so insane!
