Also, when I was little my mom always checked our candy before we could eat it, but I just thought it was because we lived in the ghetto and she didn't trust our neighbors... hahaha I had no idea other people did the same thing until I got older. (Also, half of our neighbors wouldn't have candy because they weren't expecting kids to trick or treat in our neighborhood... I think the other kids were smart enough to go trick or treat in the rich neighborhoods... At the time I didn't even know we weren't in the rich neighborhoods... 🤷♀️ hahaha After a few years some of our neighbors would actually buy candy just for me and my sisters because they knew we'd be the only kids coming through. hahaha
