073123 Cosmogelica Patch
Added 2023-08-01 00:51:53 +0000 UTCI know, another one?? Right now I'm fine tuning the difficulty balancing, so it takes a few builds to get it juuuust right.
If you're not in the beta testing for the game and you're not in the server, hit me up and I'll let you check it out (but you have to tell me what you think!!)
Here's the patch notes:
===== IMPROVED =====
- The game will now attempt to add more variety in enemy spawns so you won't get the same formation multiple times in a row.
- There is now a greater chance of fuel drops at low fuels during odd numbered 10th phases.
- The game will give you a boost in fuel just before each 10th phase to fight the horde of enemies/boss, so you're not just at low fuel the whole time.
- The pre-loader now has better integration with the rest of the game, allowing a seamless transition. (What this means is the game won't look weirdly stretched when you first start it up.)
- Players with fast hard drives probably will have never noticed the above. Don't worry about it.
===== CHANGED =====
- Changed how enemy spawning works, specifically in relation to odd numbered 10th phases.
- Changed how drops work, making them slightly more generous (especially later on in the run.)
- Fuel will not count down if there are no enemies on the screen, or if you're fighting a boss and it has already been defeated. This, combined with no countdown during phase transition, should tighten it up to only counting when you're *actually* playing.
- Missiles now ignore iframes. This fixes the bug where missiles can just never hit the boss if your power shot level is too high, just from the boss always being in an iframe state.
- Made adjustments to the fuel bonus formula.
- More enemies will spawn to fight you the longer the run goes on.
===== BUG FIXES =====
- Fixed bugs with enemy spawning in 2 player mode.
- Fixed a bug with the custom borders menu where some text would draw over other text if the back button was hovered.
- (Potentially) fixed a bug when starting up the game when it was rotated on the last run (which also made it smaller on repeat runs.) If you encounter this bug still, let me know!
