Question!?
Added 2025-05-08 07:47:58 +0000 UTCIn my most recent poll with my Patreons, a fascinating set of questions emerged, particularly centered around the preference for character models. The overwhelming majority expressed a desire for figures derived from games, but with a twist—I've noticed that many of these original models are either rendered in a comic style or appear unrealistic. Additionally, the clothing on these models often lacks quality and animation; for instance, a skirt might only stretch with leg movements rather than flowing naturally with the character's overall motion.
To explore this further, I took Widowmaker from Overwatch and gave her a more realistic makeover in one of my videos. This experiment sparked an important question: Do you prefer the original models as they appear in their respective games, or would you favor a reworked, more realistic version of well-known characters?
There are, of course, exceptions. Characters like Tifa, Lara Croft, and those from the Resident Evil series already have a strong foundation that lends itself well to a realistic reinterpretation. However, for models from games like World of Warcraft, League of Legends, and Overwatch, I lean towards creating more realistic versions. Conversely, I steer clear of anime figures for VR use, as they often appear oddly disconcerting rather than appealing in this immersive environment.
I think I'll frequently pit well-known characters against my own creations. I've done something like this before when I had Tomb Raider compete against an Amazon goddess I created myself. This way, as a creator, I can pursue what I love most character creation and provide you with what you wish for the most, well known gaming charactrers.
Now, the voting is open, and I'm eager to hear your thoughts. Should I continue to enhance and modernize game characters for a more realistic VR experience, or should I stay true to the original, game-authentic designs? Your input is crucial in shaping the direction of my future projects, so please cast your vote and let your voice be heard!
Thank you for taking the time to read all of this.
