As much as I enjoyed this, I found it ironic and interesting that Meagan touched on how awful it must be to be hated on by strangers whilst being a celebrity and then in the next breath she said "When I first watched this doco, I was all like 'Yay!' that Taylor was happy with Joe but now....eww gross." Taylor has never publicly shamed Joe, or given interviews where she throws shade at him. Even her songs about him tell the tale of a man who shuns the spotlight, suffers from some form of depression and wants to lead a quiet life. She literally says in So Long London that she knows he'll find someone but she wasn't the one. And before you say that she never shades anybody - she does artistically. She's given Kanye, Kim, John, Jake and Matty what for in multiple tracks but honestly just seems sad and emotionally exhausted that her and Joe couldn't patch up their differences. All evidence points to his biggest crime being unable to fight for their love - which doesn't make him deserving of derision. If he did, all of TTPD would have been about how awful he is. I don't believe he deserves an "Ewww" comment at all. I adore Taylor but this doesn't mean I'll automatically hate all of her exes.

I highly recommend watching her Netflix documentary “Gaga: Five foot Two” it’s during her Joanne Album era and preparing for the Super Bowl halftime show (and right before a star is born). I think there's something to what your Dad was saying about Taylor staying relevant and making new music as she gets older. It's at least one reason she's been diversifying with directing music videos, and working towards writing and directing her first feature film(!!!!), etc.

Taylor has a deal with Searchlight Pictures to direct an original script! There's not a lot of details released but I'd think she would work on it after she wraps up the Eras tour this year.

As much as I love this documentary, I think you guys should really check out Swiftologist's reaction to it on youtube (Journalist reacts to Miss Americana starring Taylor Swift with no filter). The documentary itself leaves out a lot of things to create a clean, straighforward narrative.

Megan nailed it on the head with wanting to be friends with her not cuz she's the cool girl but because she is honest and relatable. I graduated in 2006 and the Trend at the time was really like, marginalized groups coming into their own, hip hop and r&b was the cool thing to listen to which is great.... but I just cannot relate to the insane confidence and swagger beyonce and other hip hop women have. I appreciate the music but I feel like a fraud singing "I woke up flawless" ya know? But I can say "I've never been a natural, all I do is try try try" and it feels honest, and true to me.

I very much agree with Megan yall HAVE to watch the reputation stadium tour after you listen to that full album. Eras is still my favorite but reputation is absolutely incredible as well. Her live vocals are great and the production value is almost as good as Eras in my opinion. Very good representation of the album itself as well in the sense that the visuals are exactly what you'd expect them to be based on the music.
