Just to comment on the discussion about the final track Boys will Be Boys - love that you love the song, but just want to maybe change the perspective of the song which is more the intent of the song. I don't believe it's meant to be a female empowerment song (though it does sound anthemic), but a commentary on the different expectations and lived experience of girls and boys/women and men. The phrase boys will be boys is often used to excuse toxic male behaviour and harmful male stereotypes that are perpetuated and often written off or encouraged as boys. Whereas girls are taught at a young age that they are responsible for things that happen to them, to be conscious of what you wear, holding your keys in your hands at night walking because we are unfortunately expecting to be harassed and need to be able to defend ourselves. This song is a commentary of the societal norms and the double standards and reminds me of the phrase used often these days to highlight this - men are afraid women will laugh at them, women are afraid men will kill them (have a cruise through the lyrics and this theme is very clear) Love your dive into Dua Lipa! Can't wait to watch your tinry desk reaction :)

It’s so good! I still have a huge love for her first and so many songs on there even though it’s not quite as consistent as future nostalgia

Michael

also she has a deluxe, called moonlight edition. 8 more tracks. all phenomenal and slips into newer genres! Maybe a mini patreon exclusive. Id love to see your reaction, you might even know some of them (moreeee huge singles haha)

I just wanted to say, dads idea about a classic dj mix/interpretation of the album does exist! During the lockdown Dua recruited lots of djs to make “Club Future Nostalgia” and gave them free reign to go crazy and make this seamless mix of the from start to finish of songs from the album, every track leads from another. She included songs ‘from the vault?’ too that are amazing such as love is religion. Madonna, Gwen Stefani, Missy Elliot, Jamiroquai and other big names even collaborated. Maybe if you were interested you could react to that? Its so wacky and playful and was a super clever idea for utilizing the covid lockdown as a productive space!!

100% agree that this album is such a good pop album that you could just listen to on repeat. Probably my fave of hers although her first one does have its bops. Thanks for the reaction video :)
