Robert Walton. He's a good sailor but kind of a bad sea captain. He's very good at practical work on the deck, navigation and coordination but he sucks as communication and giving orders so that makes him a bit of a bad leader at first.
He likes exploring, anything related to the ocean, mythology, stargazing and finding new strange things. Things like 'sea monsters'.
He's not an actual captain, he just gathered a small group of sailors and somehow convinced them to explore 'the ends of the earth' with him. They regret agreeing.

And yeah he's quite awkward, he's not very good in social situations, which doesn't help his already-poor leadership skills. He may look fancy but he's a mess on the inside (like Victor). Thank you!

You have some really excellent character designing skills. I am liking this very much! I love Walton's outfit! Seeing the looks on his face, I'm guessing he's shyish? Maybe socially awkward? Whatever's his personality you've chosen for him, I say it's a very nice fit for him. Absolutely wonderful as usual, bud!
