July 2019 - W.I.P UPDATE
Added 2019-08-07 09:13:56 +0000 UTCFEATURE ANIMATION: LIFEGUARD x STITCH: SOMETHING ABOUT FRUIT
Hello Everyone,
Apologies for the update this month, managed to get really super sick a week ago and that has sadly caused me some downtime. However, prior to getting sick July was an insanely productive month. The montage is 100% done and we are 30 seconds into the final scene. Considering that my target for July was simply to get the montage done, this puts me considerably ahead of schedule. This is partly due to the fact that I cut the montage scene down from 4 shots to 3. I did this because the first 3 came out really well and I honestly think the animation in the montage scene is the best I've done so far. When it came time to do the fourth shot I still didn't have a concrete idea for what it should be and I didn't want to detract from the quality of the first 3 by adding in a weak shot just because I originally conceived the scene as having 4. Even so, the montage shots are only 10-15 seconds each and we're 30 seconds into the final scene so I'd STILL be ahead if I'd done the fourth. The final shot has just passed the first cum-shot (there are 3) and the Lifeguard has busted her nut so no more cum animation needed for her. We are well on target for principle animation being finished by the end of the month. Then what's left is:
- Adding grass to last few shots
- Going back and making minor adjustments where certain scenes aren't 100% finished
- Lighting the final third
- Fixing bad animation in the first 7 minutes (there are 5-6 shots that I'm going to re-do with the most up to date version of the Lifeguard
- Rendering
- Doing the musical backing track (about 30% of that is done but I really need to know the final length and when the scene changes happen so by necessity this really has to come last. I'm bringing in a session ukulele player to help.
I'd really like to be 100% done by end of September, maybe I will be. I don't know how long the render will take (based on how long the 1st 7 minutes took I'm thinking about 60 hours which will be spread out over week). However I feel very confident that we will done before the end of October. We're nearly there guys.
ELDAR NARN
Eldar Narn is coming along quite nicely and quicker than I anticipated too. We did get held up a little bit because there is a section where Gizzi knocks Wyn across the room and it took many many attempts to get the motion blur effects and the comic-booky impact graphics to work. I still don't think it quite works though, something feels off about it. But I've wasted too much time already tweaking these two pages and it's time to say 'good enough' and move on since I had moved forward 9 pages that were waiting to go up. Let me know what you think of those pages of you read them, I'd really like to know how far off the mark you guys think I am or any suggestions as to how to get it right next time.
We're closing in on the end of this chapter now, with everyone now being in there final positions. This means that the lighting setup for each panel can be more easily copied and pasted from that last one since everyone is still in the same place.
Chapter 4 will take us back to Dyi'Twaitthe as we return to Meredhel, Ohmbryn & Erolith continuing with The Ritual of Many Blessings. This chapter will see the introduction of another new main character who as of yet doesn't have a name but she is played by Ying from Paladins. She was originally played by Jinx from League of Legends and her name was I'Luin Mithrandir but the I'Luin part is play on the color of Jinx's hair (yeah, almost every elf has one of there names derived from a word in Tolkien Elvish which either describes an aspect of there character of is a joke based on the model I'm using. Luin is Elvish for blue). I might still call her I'Luin anyway if I can't think of a better one since I do like the name but I'm going to try and find her one with an appropriate hidden meaning like the others).
Chapter 4 will contain TWO completely new environments that I'll need to build as well. The first is an area of the city called 'The Queen's Square' which needs to be very carefully built as there is an important detail hidden in the background. The second is a tavern called 'The Eight Crowns.' There will most likely be a little downtime while I prepare these scenes as I haven't started them yet, also I intend to rebuild Erolith headhack since her original build has some rather nasty flaws in which impeded me greatly the first time around.
So that's July and a picture of what I'll be up to throughout September. Expect the conclusion of principle animation in the next update and also (hopefully) Eldar Narn Chapter 4.
Goodbye Friends,
