W.I.P UPDATE - Lifeguard: Something About Fruit
Added 2019-03-14 10:07:42 +0000 UTCOK, first work in progress. Not sure how format this, so to begin with I think I'll go with free associative rambling.
FEATURE ANIMATION: LIFEGUARD x STITCH: SOMETHING ABOUT FRUIT
So this film pretty much breaks down into 4 acts:
- Act 1 is the intro and takes place on the beach, it's 7 minutes long. Some lewd content, but this is just the warm up. All of this is in the Rough Cut animation released for Blue Belt level Patreons.
- Act 2 the action moves to the jungle. It is mainly foreplay and another seven minutes.
- Act 3 is all the good stuff, no filler just good old fashioned banging for a solid 8 minutes
- Act 4 is the surprise ending, wont go into too much detail here about the content, I'll leave that as a surprise. This Act will be the shortest however, probably about 5 minutes.

Currently the production is at 21 minutes, coming up to the very end of Act 3. The basic loop for this part of the animation has been done. It's about 10 seconds long. So next is expanding the loop to about 30-60 seconds, throw in some different camera angles. Then put in the voice, then lip sync, then the detail animation for the head next and upper body so it blends in with the vocals. That will complete Act 3.
Up to this point, I've tried really hard to animate everything. Whenever someone moves, stands up, changes position, gets undressed I've tried to animate the whole thing. This is mostly for practice since this is my first real animation project I've tried to challenge myself not to use cuts or fade outs to get around having to animate complicated transitional movements. And also to throw in some fun ones just because (for example, the bit with the crab in Act 1). For Act 4 I'm going to do less of this. Once the scene has been set we will cut cutting around the position changes rather than animating them. This is because:
A - It would be a logistical ball-ache (it'll make sense when you see it) and
B - For pacing reasons. I want to ramp up into the end rather than having to slow the action down so everyone can get into position.
This means that production for Act 4 should be much speedier, I'm hoping it will be done a couple of month's from now. Once Act 4 is done, that's it for principle animation. Then there are some edits I want to make to Act 1. I know a lot more about animating now than when started this project a year ago and I made some foolish mistakes that need correction.

ELDAR NARN
Eldar Narn is kind of on a little pause at the moment. Last couple of weeks I have put the animation on the slow boil so I can get Eldar Narn Chapter One finished and learn how to make and then make a website. Now that is all done I'm going to focus on the animation for a week before going back to Eldar Narn. Chapter 2 takes place in Queen Soliande's study and concerns a conversation between the Queen and Captain Ghilanna En'Itaure, a character who has been referenced several times throughout Chapter One. This Chapter will be SIGNIFICANTLY shorter than Chapter One as there is way less ground to cover, both figuratively and literally. The scene has already been built and I'm very pleased with how it has turned out, take a look:

Well, that is the current state of the two projects I'm working on at the moment. Expect more Eldar Narn in a week or so and another WIP update around the start of April and who knows, maybe someone will actually have read this by then. I hope so. That'd be nice.
