I have an unreasonable love for the How to Train Your Dragon films. The first one is my favourite animated film of all time with so many feelings attached and seeing it remade now in so called live action is... a strange experience but a welcome one. The score is so emotionally charged and a masterclass in theme. It reliably moves me to tears every single time and combining its most powerful themes into one medley to play myself is one of the most fulfilling things I have ever done.
I would be remiss not to shout out @SebastianWolff here once more for his groundbreaking work on the original arrangements which have always heavily inspired me. I had a lot of fun finding a fresh approach to these compositions and am quite happy with how they turned out, but there's no denying that Sebastian's arrangement of Test Drive just can't be beat, so the grand finale is a tribute to the master himself. 🫡
