Added 2024-01-19 20:07:10 +0000 UTCThis high level Reaper is the guardian of the Advent Tree of Omelas, Basil's hometown. I had this idea that, since the reapers are made of pure magh, they might adopt different forms depending of the source, in this case, the Advent tree they emanate from.
Since the advent tree of omelas has been feed with children for more than a decade, it might be a natural occurrence that the guardian started to take the shape of the source.
In this case, the guardian Gamaliel responds to Vidia's prayers for salvation by eating her, representing a symbolic holy punishment for her acts of abuse towards the orphans.
