Sketch – I think this is one of the most interesting pages, but also one of the hardest to complete. The initial draft included two different final framings: I had already defined and even inked them, but before moving on to coloring I realized something wasn’t working. It felt repetitive, and above all it lacked the emotional depth I was aiming for.
Definitive Sketch – In the end, I slightly changed the script to adapt the new scenes. Nothing dramatic, but I wanted to close the page with a more intimate shot that enriches their relationship. Looking at this page now, it’s not just about sex: maybe I’m romanticizing it too much, but I love the result I’m getting and I hope you’ll enjoy it too. (I won’t show the final changes to avoid spoilers for the next page 😉).
Lineart – After the adjustments I redefined the sketch, changing the wolf’s expression, and then moved on to inking. I kept using this slightly rough linework, which fits perfectly in a situation full of movement and helps make the shapes more vibrant. There’s a lot of dynamism here!
Flat Coloring – The flat colors remain simple and straightforward.
Shadows and Highlights – Once again, lighting plays an important role: it gives the scene a warm and immersive atmosphere. Anatomically and in terms of framing, there are some deliberate exaggerations — I wanted the poses to be more scenic than realistic, and they work really well.
If you have any questions about any of the steps, I'd be happy to answer them!
