Costume or Cultureal Care Package (Tf/Flattening Story)

Squishtober Day #10 : Package!~

Dressing up for Halloween even when outside the US was a no Brainer for Jules. Just because she was abroad didn't mean she'd miss a chance to dress up in something different. So when she saw the bold yet subtle flowing patterns while in South Korea. She figured what'd be the harm?

Jules roamed the streets, wearing her freshly acquired Hanbok. Her hands rubbing against the floral design as she let out a toothy grin. Eventually she came to a sort of desert like area and ran up to a random group if locals. Asking them to take her picture. The group though stunned and flabbergasted at first swiftly agreed snapping a few shots of the woman in her bright semi pastel attire.

After a while one decided to on a whim ask why she had decided to wear the dress. Their mind not thinking too much of it and appreciative of the foreign woman exploring their culture.

"Oh!~ I just needed a costume to wear for Halloween season~ And decided why not wear this old drab thing!~ Now I look like one of the old times people from the area, and it's so much different from 'actual' clothes that it's obvious!~. . . Like what els-"

The words cut off in the minds of all those around her. Their Dumbfounded expressions at the words they had heard soon changing. To a bold yet barely noticable scowl, as the mob grew closer to her.

'A. . .Costume?. . .Actual. . .clothes?' The group decided they'd show the ignorant American before them just what they thought of her apparent choice of 'seasonal' attire.

Before long passersby could only see a light cloud of dust. Many stamping feet of a semi large group passing by the open area, their soles and shoes apparently taking advantage of a mat of some kind to clean off the bottoms of their footwear.

Eventually they came to a stop and proceeded with the next 'step' of their plan. A man peeling the thin and beautifully designed 'sheet' of malleable decor. Swiftly folding it up as another pulled out an ornate bow. The sound of squishes and squelches filling the air as along with the occasionally sharp yet crisp sound of one creasing paper. Before long their master piece was ready to go. The group walking away to a nearby post office to have this tourist sent back where they belonged for their ignorance and insult to their culture. Despite the many awkward folds her beoseon, sokchima, and sokbaji all hidden under layers of clean origami like folds of her own body.

One man found an old photo of the girl had fallen out during their literal reformation of her earlier and attached it on the box. Even though it's Halloween, hopefully this freshly packaged and wrapped 'present' would return home just in time for Christmas to send a small message. . .
