FP August 2025 Update

Hi guys, lots of good news this month.

VOD Migrations underway

Futureporn.net (v1) has the VODs, but future.porn (v2) doesn't have the VODs. We're fixing this issue straightaway, bringing in all the VODs from the v1 site so the v2 site can be more useful.

Starting off with a banger, we've now got Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) using the excellent Whisper software. This is integrated with future.porn's build system which automatically generates closed captions for all uploaded VODs. These closed captions are active for all subscribing patrons and can be enabled in the video player.

A new feature for all visitors is torrent magnet links, generated by the build system for each VOD. This will give everyone a way to download VODs, and optionally seed them. (Recommended.) Shared content lasts longer, and we want these VODs to last for a very, very long time.

The RSS VOD feeds are useful for people who want to configure their torrent software to automatically download VODs of their favorite lewdtuber, or all the vods. This way you can set it and forget it, and the VODs you want get downloaded to your PC ready for you to view on your schedule. RSS is also useful if you use a feed reader and want to keep up with new VODs that way. To get started with RSS, look for the orange RSS logo on the /vods page or the /vt/<vtuber> page.

The v2 site has been re-styled to match the v1 site, and pave the way for more intricate data layouts.

The features announced today are implemented in the build server's code but most of the VODs have yet to be processed. We're operating on a tight budget so the build server is pretty slow. It's churning away, but it will take a few weeks for it to process all the VODs on the site.

What's next

Next I'll be working on full text search and timeline storyboard images.

A ton of utility will be unlocked with full text search, paired with the closed captions. This will help us find those moments we are looking for. Maybe it's a kink you're into, a memorable story or just something funny that happened but don't know which VOD it was in. Full text search is coming soon for patrons.

On the v1 site, we were depending on a third party to generate timeline hover previews (aka storyboards, aka sprites, aka frame grids.) This third party service is too costly so I decided to avoid it on the v2 site. Instead, the plan is to use future.porn's build system to do everything said third party service has been doing for us, thus saving hundreds of dollars every month. Great progress has been made on some custom software that generates the storyboard images, and now I'm working on integrating the story board images with the video player.

I've received some requests to expand the .funscripts feature to include not only vibrating toys, but also thrusting toys. This is a little more challenging to implement than vibrations, but I think it's really important to have both. I'll be working on this too, exclusively for patrons.
