What I would love to know which hasnt truly been covered until this point is what the skill upgrades do. We dont really get a description of their new upgrades into gold, he just kind of gets them.

2024-08-05 22:57:58 +0000 UTCHis eyes and cloak are very close to diamond rank I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a few of his abilities hit diamond this book( his cloak and eyes) especially his eyes cause those are always progressing can’t remember if you can have ability above other I think you can though they are just stuck at the first rank with no progression allowed

Effect (iron): Conjures a magical cloak that offers limited physical protection. Can generate light over an area or absorb light to blend into shadows. Cloak can reduce the weight of the wearer, allowing reduced falling speed and water walking. Cannot be given or taken away, but the effect can be extended to others in close proximity, with an ongoing mana cost rising exponentially with each affected person. Effect (bronze): Cloak reflexively intercepts projectiles. Highly effective against rapid, weaker attacks, but less effective against powerful, singular attacks. Cloak allows gliding. Effect (silver): Cloak passively manipulates physical space, slightly shifting the trajectory of incoming attacks. Manipulation can be actively managed for more directed effect or to allow passage through spaces normally too small to physically traverse. Cloak allows flight for a low ongoing mana cost, increasing to a moderate ongoing mana cost while in direct sunlight.

Silver to Gold the essences seem to harmonize with the body and exemplifies qualities already within the essence user. Once the powers and qualities have equalized and balanced out I believe is what was explained as 'The Wall' where its more of a fundamental understanding of You and the Essences empowering you. Basically taking it from powers you use to it being just... you? If that makes sense

2024-04-20 03:41:45 +0000 UTCMy thoughts on the inherent gifts: Numen: from the definition of “numen” as “the spirit or divine power presiding over a thing or place” I think it is safe to say this is the new name for the Spirit Domain gift. Palanquin: seems pretty straightforward. Palanquins are platforms held by servants that transport important figures. Usually in luxury. This seems like the new Dark Rider gift, the one that allowed Shade bodies to become vehicles. Seems like Colin and Gordon can also help now from what shade mentioned in the associated chapter. I wonder if it still blocks tracking. System Administrator: I think this one is a combination of his Party Interface and Tactical Map abilities, but expanded in some way now that Jason is connected to an entire cosmic system and has some level of awareness of that cosmic system, too. Sacred Phoenix: this one seems related to the Nirvanic Transfiguration, given that the world Phoenix gave him that gift. Relics of the King: I think this has to do with his three extra closely soul bound items, his sword/scabbard, the cloud flask, and the amulet. I’m mostly basing this based on how Hegemon’s Will and its scabbard were reforged into Relics by Gary. Maybe his cloud flask and amulet now also can become relics? Not sure though. And Prime Avatar: I think this is just what it says. It lets Jason form a Prime Avatar now that he is a universe and not a mortal. Maybe there’s more to it than meets the eye but I’m not sure. Overall I really like the new names and am excited to see what changed besides the names of the gifts. I’m not sure where his Defiant gift fits in anymore, based on these names, but I doubt he lost the ability to ignore rank disparity of aura suppression and resistances. The enhanced looting ability may be gone, but we’ll have to wait to see. Maybe they got rolled into Sacred Phoenix or Prime Avatar?
