I figured Pepper would’ve been it, but the Val answer was another one I was hoping, he was such a cool villain, and the dynamic between him and rushing make that book a contender for my favorite one in the series thus far. Vadik seems like that looming presence you’re always worried about in the back of your mind, but the way Val’s scenes were described, and his development, absolutely enthralling
