This isn't a chapter - unbetaed 14-1

It is that time once again.

These 41K words should hopefully keep all the avid readers busy for...quite some time (the author says hopefully, not really believing his own words).

All right, I hope you're going to be satisfied with the first stage of what promises to be a long Arc.

Comments

Was there ever any doubt, lol? After all, he is an Ork...

Antony444

I’ve been re-reading this story and have come across ‘Bruk Bruk’ the mech boy. I get the feeling he’s going to become a really powerful foe for the queen of escalation. It would be just Taylor’s luck to have to fight a krork

Mr.Squeakers

Interesting chapter 4 Artefacts now recovered, I do hope Vulcan becomes a major recurring character like Guiliman with all this effort. Onto other stuff, Eldar messing up stuff again, why do I get the feeling after this that all not Atharti Eldar are going to be hunted down after this. Also the unnamed chapter of Iron Hands successors i am going to guess it is the break away clan.

Stormstar1995

Wiki states that in canon that some have already been recovered it also confusingly says there’s 7 and 9 artefacts so appreciate it.

Speedster

Well they do use iron warrior colors and markings but fair enough regarding their lack of tech know how.

mastergamer98007

It is indeed the full unbetaed chapter (41K words is my limit for this month, I'm afraid).

Antony444

The details are going to come in the later parts of the Arc, lol. 4 Artefacts have been recovered in all, 2 at Commorragh, and 2 in this very chapter. There are nine Artefacts in all (canon), if I imply something elsewhere, it's a typo mistake.

Antony444

To be fair to them, Aurelia Malys and all the Atharti followers are going to be aghast at what Yriel did. And they will want to correct the 'mistake' in a very painful manner (for Yriel).

Antony444

That's certainly a factor, but I think you're missing a bit the tree for the forest here...

Antony444

And yes, a lot of the problems plaguing the Imperium exist because they hadn't had the time to shift from 'conquest mode' into 'true state-consolidation mode'. The goal of the Great Crusade was to remove threats like the Orks of Ullanor and the Rangdan, all the while unifying the survivors of humanity. The consolidation effort had just started when the Heresy destroyed the entire edifice.

Antony444

Indeed. Some people only see the 'shining hero' face of Roboute Guilliman. They forget a bit too fast that it is the son of the Emperor who kept things from collapsing totally after the Heresy. Roboute can be a very nice guy to be clear. But he's also the Lord of the Five Hundred Worlds. You don't reach that high before gaining a certain degree of ruthlessness.

Antony444

Technically, the greatest flaw of the Iron Warriors is Spite, not Aggression, but otherwise, correct. If they were sons of Perturabo, the Marines Malevolent wouldn't have all their problems with maintenance. They would be the tech-experts everyone would go for maintenance, instead.

Antony444

Yes, and yes, and I won't say more about it until the next chapters.

Antony444

Lol, if it is an attempt to make me spoil what comes after, it won't work, but nice try.

Antony444

Well, I gave a hint or two that the path Yriel had chosen at Macragge was not going to be a nice one. Pride can be a very Deadly Sin for obvious reasons...

Antony444

It's more than implying, they indeed try to steal the Chalice of Fire (and since all the other relics were aboard right then, all of them by definition). Fortunately for inter-Legion relationships, all the culprits are long-dead.

Antony444

Yes, and even saying that is an understatement of the highest order...

Antony444

It will, not that it's not a threshold hard to beat.

Antony444

It is just your imagination, lol. More seriously, since the tariffs are all the rage, of course the Skavens were going to make a messy subject...messier.

Antony444

From my point of view IoM fell to corruption as quickly as it did was because during the scourging chaos targeted the philosophers and every important projects the Emperor had made. Plus is the rebellion didn't happen right then and waited a century or two traditions on what is allowed would have formed. Would have fallen to corruption eventually? Maybe but the traitors ruined humanity future.

Forgottenone

The only issue with the Iron Warriors connection to the Marines Malevolent is that they do not present any quirks associated with Iron Warriors. The Iron Warriors had an affinity for Heavy Weapons and actual technology, so it does not make sense for those descended from them let their equipment suffer from poor maintenance. In addition, their flaw was not aggression / rage, it was I believe paranoia inherited from their Primarch. If anything the in chapter suspicion that they are 'World Eaters' make sense.. outside possibility is 'Night Lords'

Jeremy

Going to shoot my guesses that Bane could be Ingo Pech and the Marines Malevolent probably are 'loyalist' iron warriors. Also since Falco is going to be a member, is it possible to get an updated list of dawnbreakers ala extermination interlude 2 for the dead and new in the next chapter.

mastergamer98007

I going to play Chaos Advocate here... the Imperium of Man is in the gutter because how big it's bureaucracy is which makes it prone to corruption. It depended on a 'few' great beings to hold it together and without them it would ultimately tank, and to be fair it almost happens to the Emperor. The Imperium would still be beset by various factions that would slowly eat at it's fringes. Honestly the Heresy and Chaos potentially allowed the Imperium to main cohesive following the 'death' of the Emperor and Malcador. Without the Heresy my guess is some of the Traitors Primarchs would have created splinter empires if the Emperor was to die.

Jeremy

Maybe they won't be living for all that much longer, and thus will no longer have the chance to learn... Or cause trouble...

Thiemo Guenther

So Missy had some "adventure" that somehow involved Space Wolves ay ? And she apparently had a modification done to her soul ? It seems more and more likely that an ascension as the lady saint of the Spaces wolves and the breath of Ghur is in line for her in the futur ... and now that I think about it, "Judge" Missy Biron and "Executionner" Leman Russ go really well together!

Gohu lacd

Papa Smurf has brought Space Marines hitman back into the field. Really this chapter showed that Terra has very much forgotten what the Primarch are and more importantly what they are capable of. Also Chaos Marines you asses are why IoM is stuck in the gutter in the first place, so your trash talking down humanity sounds completely ridiculous.

Forgottenone

Is it just me, or do I sense a tad of political commentary on the tariffs?

Gabriel Meadow

Unfinished chapters of TWO are always titled "This isn't a Teaser". Like Speedster said, it is finished except for a last bit of polishing.

Bad Timing

...sigh. Of course Yriel and his idiot followers are going to cause even more trouble. Some people just never learn, no matter how long they live. Thanks for the not-chapter.

s22132

Maybe is misread the section but did they imply the Iron Hands might have tried to steal Vulkan’s Relic during the heresy. Potential just after the big betrayal and death of Ferrus on Istavaan. Oh boy, all the secrets are coming out lately.

Jeremy

Well the children have not been scatter across space, and she started with two. So she is slated for an easier time.

Jeremy

I hope parenthood goes better for our basilea than it did the emperor

foo-jin

So... the problem will come from Yriel first... I admit at first I thought it would be Mainarch Dynasty with all their Flaied. Perturabo is building Mega-Fleet, while dealing with Anarchy. Vandire is doing Vandire things, while being extra ambitious, and there is Guilliman doing something secret and nasty... Plus whatever happened to Missy... curse you for all that cliffhangers! Either way, there are many sparks everywhere... wonder how many fires would appear later.

Boris Michenski

But finally what are the artefacts of Vulkan? Are there 7 or 9? This means 4 recovered in this fic but don’t they have 2 already recovered?

Speedster

And here I thought that the problems would cease on the non-chaos Eldar front my mistake, though if I’m reading it right that mistake will correct itself in time.

Silver Wolf

Unbetaed. A few paragraphs may be added and such but don’t expect a new scene

Speedster

All hail new quadrant lady. Would love a scene detailing what exactly that entailed in terms of Adeptus infrastructure. Also very minor typo: this is solved by using the Agri-Hives as bargaining ships

Speedster

Is this the full chapter?
