I encountered several obstacles on the writing schedule for the second part of this month, some of them due to Real Life, some of them due to inspiration fleeing me from The Odds, but not about other stories, which was...distracting.
Anyway, I was able to finish the chapter this morning, and send The odds 122 to my beta. So hopefully, it will be ready to be updated before the month is over.
And now I can turn my mind to the preparation of the last chapter of the Legacy Arc of TWO. Hurrah!
Well, it's all I wanted to say. Enjoy the reading, and no, don't pretend you are a Champion of Death, because you aren't.

2024-09-30 08:14:16 +0000 UTCGood lord looking back at first year Alexandra compared to what we have now, she just never fucking stopped. There was this whole little bit where Alexandra had a bolt hole of resources, cash she had stolen and her parlor tricks she could use to trick her then enemies. She never had the luxury of stopping, and woe any Dursley's that try to punish her now. I really wish we had snippets of interactions like Hermione's family, Nigel's suffering with The Loud Duck , and the young Lady Yaxley's family drama. But there's so much happening that honestly I'm not surprised the beginning of burnout is happening on this fic. If you gotta stop, then stop please. Take care of yourself first and foremost. Thank you

Those people both in and outside of the Exchequer who were like 'We know what to expect with Alexandra' are going to be eating their words. The Morrigan lucked out when she found such a competent champion, considering some of the other examples that were floating around (looking at you, Neville, Leo, etc). And the champion of chaos is going to be so bitter she missed this. Also, Albus's brother is here! Hopefully he has some rude words to say to his brother. Thanks for the chapter and I look forward to more fun in other stories coming up!

2024-09-28 23:21:03 +0000 UTCHmm...you can get Morrigan/Fate, or you can get Morrigan/Death. But you can't get Death/Fate. Those are two different Powers, and best kept apart. By comparison, Arianna Dumbledore, a Lich, becoming a Champion of Fate would be a tiny disaster compared to the apocalyptic event that two Powers merging would represent. I don't want to exaggerate, it would likely be very close to 'hell on earth' for billions of people...

2024-09-28 16:16:26 +0000 UTCThe more time I spend trying to guess what elemental alignment Death will get and consequently if Alexandra will get a new patron and what kind of mythical-being shaped powerup they will grand her, the more confused I get. At this point, I might as well go the extra mile and predict that Alex and the Morrigan will ursurp Fate (the Morrigan is associated with fate and war after all and Alex is the linchpin of THE prophecy) then go and align Death/Fate with the Plane of Magic and turn it into something between Inevitability and Time.

Also: magical tiger cubs, GET! Once our dread-lady has them potty trained, she can brag about how well behaved her tigers are when interacting with a certain birdbrain.
