Weaver Option Teaser 28 June 2020
Added 2020-06-28 15:11:28 +0000 UTCLet's finish this month with a teaser shall we? With 7000 words, it's rather on the large side for a teaser, but I think that proportionally to what is left to write, the term teaser is appropriate.
As you will see by reading this, the Battle of Commorragh has caused...err...a few upheavals on the galactic scale.
Enjoy!

Well, if there are Imperial Fists on the defence, the Iron Warriors are sure to come, I'm told there is some enmity between those two Legions...

2020-07-03 20:36:48 +0000 UTCI agree with what you are saying overall and I just do not think one important enough overall has not shown up, make it worthwhile writing about them. Nyx is a backwater sector in the middle of nowhere, honestly we know the for sure that inquisition forces were sent by the emperor. Just now did Taylor amass that much influence, as before she did not have much influence overall. Titles like Saint and chosen of the Omnissiah only have power if the people want to listen. Look at the star forge galleon STC powers above set the price and told her she had to sell. About the evil type well it warhammer 40k which is a very dark universe.

2020-07-03 18:48:03 +0000 UTCHmmm I think this story is missing the 'good guy' character who severely distrusts the main character... Not sure how you can add that at this point considering Taylor basically is already the greatest hero the Imperium has ever had sans the Emperor. But, maybe some people are starting to worry she plans a rebellion? Like we aren't going against her, but we are watching her closely type of thing. A 'Morgan' type character if you've read the Dresden Files....I mean shes getting a pretty huge following and gaining a lot of personal power. Point is that its starting to hurt read that everyone that Taylor disagrees with is 'evil' and has appropriate reasons to be arrested/killed/sent to penal legions. Would be nice to see a character that Taylor has to respect/cannot replace/kill/remove but has to work with gratingly. Maybe the cogboys start thinking that Taylor is dangerously innovative.... Not sure.

2020-07-03 17:53:00 +0000 UTCOperation Stalingrad sounds like the type of defense fight meant to draw in the Iron Warriors and then shatter then in a defensive fight. I imagine the proof that Dorn Lives is not acceptable towards them and they get drawn in and suffer the simple proof that Siege Warfare for the attacker is a good way to waste massive resources.

2020-07-03 16:29:33 +0000 UTCOf course! By my account I have least 10 days of writing before finishing the Interlude, so I will post one update by Sunday at the latest.
Antony444
2020-07-02 16:57:54 +0000 UTCNot necesseriraly the Inquisitor you're thinking about (he's very busy), but an Inquisitor and plenty of personnel to 'deal with the situation', yes.
Antony444
2020-07-02 16:57:08 +0000 UTCHey Antony, do you plan to post any more teasers for this Interlude or wait until it's finished and post it wholesale?

2020-07-02 11:31:00 +0000 UTCWe can expect a visit from a certain inquisitor who will purge the nobility on wuan, Right-wing?

2020-07-02 11:25:01 +0000 UTCBy now? It's more of what's in store for them in the short-term future. There's too little time and no resources to change it.
Antony444
2020-07-01 15:40:53 +0000 UTCYou are on a nice escalation scenario, and I know what I'm speaking about...

2020-07-01 15:39:55 +0000 UTCThoughts on Stalingrad - I think it might start off as Nyx relief force against the Ork Waaagh which is besieging the Forge World of Tigrus (which would eventually fall in OTL, losing irreplaceable STCs like top tier accelerator cannons and guided ballistic shells). Stopping that thing, heavy fighting and lifting of the siege might explain the operation's name. Of course other factions can get involved. In 41k, in addition to an Ork Empire that area is surrounded by more than five hostile necron dynasties. So a bunch of tombworlds on the route and around the destination. Ymga Monolith in particular reeally close, dont accidentally wake up that Imotekh dude. Also nearby is a permanent major warp storm and some webway gates - chaos is a possibility. So there's plenty to choose from for Taylor! And for the lovers of STCs out there - Tigrus was known to have extensive DAOT-era underground catacombs where STCs were found at one point. Maayyybe its like mars, not completely explored? Regardless, some of those necrons tomb worlds would be on Taylor's Hit List. And Tau Homeworlds are not too far away, maybe more clues on Terrathens? Between the holy mission of saving a Forge World, all of these side goals, results of previous expeditions with the Chosen, Mechanicus will be all over this expedition if it all goes down at once. Whatever the case, something will happen that will further reinforce religious hysteria of Terra Nova.

2020-07-01 00:04:38 +0000 UTCWas the vision about Biel-Tan a warning about what may happen if they continue their path, or was it a prophecy/will happen whether or not they change their tune?
2020-06-30 19:14:15 +0000 UTCFair enough, still even if Stalingrad has nothing to do with Biel-Tan, I think my other point, that it should be a largely naval operation stands and I think it can help deal with the Navy's hurt feelings after their screw up with Caribbean. We will see.
Trevayne
2020-06-30 17:26:21 +0000 UTCI doubt that Operation Stalingrad has anything to do with Biel-Tan. If you remember, Cypher said that the Chaos Space Marines hated the results of Operation Stalingrad, and I doubt they would care much about a destroyed Craft-world
2020-06-30 15:20:58 +0000 UTCI wonder if Operation Stalingrad is the destruction of Biel-Tan? After all, that was pretty high on Taylor's to do list after Commorragh. In addition, since it is likely to be a mainly naval operation (if she just wants to destroy Biel-Tan, just destroy it, don't land on it and feed troops into a meat grinder of desperate Aeldari), it is a good chance to mend fences with Kar Duniash and offer the Navy a chance for glory under the saint's command. Given the number of ships lost to Eldar pirates, I don't see the Navy saying "We don't have any ships for that".

2020-06-30 14:47:12 +0000 UTCAnd now the wild specualtion continues with another Primarch...
Antony444
2020-06-29 16:28:36 +0000 UTCCurious to see when Leman Russ will show up. Eye of Terror is shrinking and the Space Wolves have been mentioned before. Seems like a good way to add a 4th Primarch
2020-06-29 13:03:35 +0000 UTCThe Emperor has had a lot of time to reflect on the warnings everyone told him...when he could afford to think that it, the last millennia have not been exactly peaceful for him.
Antony444
2020-06-29 07:33:55 +0000 UTCI wonder if Emps will think back on the Warning Uriah Olathaire gave him before Emps ordered his death.
Dale
2020-06-29 01:56:10 +0000 UTCI believe the answer to that is “Yes” or “All the awards”

2020-06-29 00:33:13 +0000 UTCI’m excited to see what awards all the familiar characters got.
primus
2020-06-28 21:28:35 +0000 UTCThe best part when you comes from the past and everybody save the Emperor has forgotten it, it's that you can take some impressive battles and twist the operational foundations for your purposes...
Antony444
2020-06-28 18:40:13 +0000 UTCWell it's an idea...not a necessarily good one, but an idea.
Antony444
2020-06-28 18:39:01 +0000 UTCIt will be the next big military operation Weaver will participate into, yes.
Antony444
2020-06-28 18:38:32 +0000 UTCYou're welcome.
Antony444
2020-06-28 18:37:50 +0000 UTCTraitor Marine: We have the Gods with us. We can take her. Weaver: Well, I’ve already got one ‘God’ so who’ll be next one? And I also wonder what will be this operation Stalingrad? As I doubt Weaver and her forces would be willing to play Nezi there: as attacking with overwhelming number and firepower on single zone of the battle front, only to fail, be overflanked, encircled, starved and destroyed… I imagine that would be Chaos Forces fate? They attack somewhere to avenge Slaanesh and crush Imperiums spirit after Commorragh, only for Weaver to come in and play Aleksandr Vasilevsky and operation Uranus?
Boris Michenski
2020-06-28 18:13:25 +0000 UTCwell that was cool looking forward to more........... though........ what will the big I guys think of an army sized self perpetuating population with full knowledge of the darkness and a planet cleansed by cool stuff (former pirate den yes?) mmmmmmmmmmm lets keep it and make an army factory alakrieg but with the SM and WW1 fetish???
thomas miller
2020-06-28 17:51:25 +0000 UTCAlso another question what's Operation Stalingrad? It doesn't sound familiar so I'm going to guess it's a future operation that Weaver undertakes.
Confused
2020-06-28 17:50:16 +0000 UTCWei is the oldest now, yes. But Taylor being Taylor may have other ideas about putting her in charge...all the concerns she had have not vanished into nothingness in the last years.
Antony444
2020-06-28 17:20:14 +0000 UTCYep, this was one of those things nobody would feel much surprise about.
Antony444
2020-06-28 17:18:59 +0000 UTCTraitor Marine: We have the Gods with us. We can take her. (and they don't have the excuse of the Drukhari who had to defend their city against a surprise attack)
Antony444
2020-06-28 17:18:35 +0000 UTCIf he does, I wouldn't spoil it, wouldn't I?
Antony444
2020-06-28 17:17:35 +0000 UTCNo, it's jsut that the Hell Forge was nominally sworn to Slaanesh and well...bad things happened. Ave Imperator!
Antony444
2020-06-28 17:17:01 +0000 UTCthx for the beautiful words loved seeing the first reactions will be fun to see what faction will be the first to say they can take weaver and show as a example they cant ^^
frank schellingerhout
2020-06-28 17:17:00 +0000 UTCI am not surprised at all that Wuhan had Slaanesh Cultists on the planet. I'm sure Weaver and the Inquisition will have a fun time cleaning up that mess.
Confused
2020-06-28 16:24:49 +0000 UTCAlso, I forgot to add, from the start, I assume the Chaos Space Marine Legions are gonna pull a Drukhari and underestimate Taylor vastly, will they?
Vortiboy27
2020-06-28 16:06:43 +0000 UTCDoes Cypher have any plans on visiting or meeting with Taylor anytime soon? He might be a traitor, but he does save some Imperial forces from time to time.
Vortiboy27
2020-06-28 16:05:23 +0000 UTCHm . . . okay, I'm in favor of monogamy when the ratio of fertile males to fertile females is close to parity, but surely debauchery at its worst would involve the mutilation and murder of sophonts as part of the orgy? (Granted, once the cultists show up the murder part promptly commences.) So is Wei the oldest child of ex-Governor Cao, now? Or are there a couple of remaining siblings Weaver needs to purge in order to put her waifu in charge?
2020-06-28 16:05:07 +0000 UTCOk, glorious begginig. Slaanesh dead, galaxy and particulary Eye is reeling. And as Eye is shrinking somewhat... does it means that this Sha’are Mavet was on a border of Eye of Terror and will find itself outside once all is said and done? Nova Terra will start crumbling, and Cypher find himself wondering what to do now... Ave Imperator and Glory to great writer!
