Nepotism plays a role...but Macharius is also very, very good.
Antony444
2019-11-10 19:24:26 +0000 UTCEh... Taylor will totally kill anyone she thinks needs to be killed. And anyone who gets in her way. Remember, she's a pragmatist, so she won't spare Xenos because its "the right thing to do". Fact is Xenocide is IoM policy, and she'll go along with it because she cares more about her people then aliens that might not deserve to die.

2019-11-10 18:14:40 +0000 UTCIt is also good to see that Taylor will consider sparing some of the Xenos. Granted, it is for understandable operational reasons (shatter whatever pirate coherency remains), but still good that living in the Imperium has not caused her to fully buy into the ideology.

2019-11-10 17:27:32 +0000 UTCTwentyfour years old and a full general. Clearly whatever else Taylor accomplished, in M41 nepotism was alive and well (I assume he was just a governor's son and not a living Saint).

2019-11-10 17:22:40 +0000 UTCMaybe, maybe...don't want to spoil too much of the future arcs, you understand.
Antony444
2019-11-10 14:40:54 +0000 UTCMy mistake (grin).
Antony444
2019-11-10 14:40:23 +0000 UTCNothing good, nothing good... That said, Sophia had a good idea of what Taylor was capable of...when in Brockton Bay where the most dangerous insects were blackwidows and brown recluses or the like. Her knowledge is extremely outdated (one might even call it obsolete).
Antony444
2019-11-10 14:40:08 +0000 UTCTelling that to the Rashans would hardly create a feeling of trust. Telling that to anyone else would just spread the rumour your are an oath-breaker. Darth Vader in Star Wars is feared, but frankly his word is worth nothing. Taylor really, really must not follow this road.
Antony444
2019-11-10 14:37:53 +0000 UTCI'm really hoping that when Caribbean starts, after the initial strike and taylor broadcast only mildly encrypted or completely in the clear that her message involves "I have altered the deal, pray I do not alter it further"
2019-11-10 02:40:45 +0000 UTCI wonder what Sophia's response will be upon discovering that Taylor's bouncing around giving more incentive to avoid creepy crawlies in the same Galaxy she's in? Her teacher will be MOST interested in everything Sophia lets slip, especially since Taylor's got some unique defenses compared to most of the Assassin Cults usual targets. Even if they're never sent after her, having some idea for countering said defenses would likely be appreciated *Grins*

2019-11-10 01:43:52 +0000 UTCOnly problem I have is the last sentence. A phobia is an irrational fear. If you are an enemy of Taylor Hebert, NOT fearing spiders is irrational. :D

2019-11-10 00:39:52 +0000 UTCThat was a fantastic lead in for the upcoming chapter. Though your writing speed continues to amaze me. Interesting rank Star Marshal, A replacement for Warmaster, taking the same roll as Lord Solar would have then?
Alexander S
2019-11-10 00:24:03 +0000 UTCAh, busted (grin).
Antony444
2019-11-09 21:25:54 +0000 UTCI just noticed... if that is Alexander Macharius from canon, then he was supposed to have died in 400.41M. That extract is from 670.41M. An extra 270 years from one of the IGs greatest generals is a big deal.
Richard Paull
2019-11-09 19:43:53 +0000 UTCMiss. The Callidus are all girls. Taylor is still far from the very top, but it's true the number of promotions the Imperium can give is not unlimited...
Antony444
2019-11-09 19:23:49 +0000 UTCWell mister assasin is up to some unpleasant time... wonder if miss from Venenum has some toys to make him talk... As for Star Marchal (isn't it from from StarShip Troopers? where that are all the stupidest commanders ever? At least in Movie and games) let's not forget that Taylor is already General, and there is still 6 Endbringers to go. Imperium will run out of promotions before she run out of baddies to kill. Plus such title may represent some authourity over both Guard and Navy, as Taylor seems to promoute unity.
Boris Michenski
2019-11-09 16:43:44 +0000 UTCYes, yes I know I'm evil (smiles innocently). She might, she might. The Assassin was more trying to get away from the tender attentions of the ant, and the ant disagreed (or Taylor did, big grin). Thanks for the support!
Antony444
2019-11-09 16:26:30 +0000 UTCStar Marshal. And yes.
Antony444
2019-11-09 16:24:46 +0000 UTCDon't forget they were sent against a hard target with absolutely zero correct intelligence reports and they were Apprentice-Graduates, not battle-hardened assassins with hundreds of operations under their belt. It's a little miracle one managed to get so close with the amount of security Taylor has at her disposal.
Antony444
2019-11-09 16:24:35 +0000 UTCMan, it was evil to put such small part, while saying you have over 13000... it was such a teaser ;-) So, Taylor became a role model to the most succesfull IG commander in Canon storyline? Remarcable. She'll also found some Sororitas... well, who know how events will enfold. And Sabath called Angel of Healing? I don't think it's canon :-) And at last, why would an assasin try to assasinate an ant? Or s/he got caught by it? Thanks for your work. I'm waiting for more!
Boris Michenski
2019-11-09 16:20:54 +0000 UTCWelp. So much for those Assassins.

2019-11-09 16:06:45 +0000 UTCStar Marshel of the Imperial Guard? a new rank created for Weaver
