Level 17-2 - Dungeon of the Mad Mage (All Tiers)

Seadeeps. Into the Matrix: Alterdeep.  The mind flayer colony in the Undermountain, powered by a raging river and psionic energy, creating a simulated reality of Waterdeep above.

This is the second release for Level 17 - Map C - spanning the middle section of the level - and focusing on all the mind flayer apparatus in their colony.  A reminder how this level will is split:

Map Notes. This release has all the fun and exciting parts of Level 17.  The mind flayer colony is powered by the raging river that winds its way across this map - harnessed by dynamos.  I went deep down the wikipedia rabbit hole on dynamos and their history dating back to 1832 to try and figure out how I was going to create these assets.  The map is crisscrossed by copper wires connecting all the hardware - dynamos, crystal screens, psipods.

Files. There are 2 files for this map - the "combined" image which includes both the river and colony levels, and a "river only" image which, you guessed it, has the river level only.  There are enough overlapping areas that if your players find themselves washed down the river I wanted there to be a separate map for it.

As always, I have included both Background "_BG_" and Transparent "_TP_" versions of each of the map (C_Combined and C_RiverOnly); background means it has a flat grey image behind the dungeon and transparent means there is nothing there. For the Roll20 versions, this means the background version is a jpg while the transparent version is a png (jpegs don't support transparency); Foundry files are both dd2vtt files.

The zip files below have the Level 17 Maps C as well as a DM overlay for each map. Roll20Free is a .jpg < 10MB, Roll20Paid is a .jpg < 20MB and Foundry formats are dd2vtt files. Roll20 maps are at 70 and 140 px per grid cell respectively and the Foundry files are 100 px (this also holds true for the transparent images).
